  1. This reminds me of one of T-ara's previous performance, everybody thought it was super cute at the moment. Of course it was Bo Peep Bo Peep not "Sexy Love".. still I hope people will not judge until they actually see the performance:

Come to think of it 'I Go Crazy About You' was more risque... than Sexy Love :P

Well remembered. Now even if this move may be seen as too convenient for some people, past concerts confirms that this isn't so odd to happen.

  2. Wikipedia also states that professional ethics are not universal but vary from profession to profession and corporation to corporation. In general, professional ethics are the basis for trust between a professional and a client: The client trusts professionals because professionals behave in accordance to a certain set of usually unspoken rules that reinforce trust. For an executive having to answer to actionists, investors, and creditors it is part of the ethics of his profession to keep their interests first, otherwise he will lose their trust and his career will be over.

We shouldn't forget this is not the executives' fault, nor the investors' fault, nor the creditors' fault, nor the actionists' fault. This is neither the fault of those involved in the project, nor of those managing the enterprise producing the drama.

Eunjung broke the ethics of her profession when she got involved in such a scandal while being signed up for a drama, the girls broke the ethics of their profession when they got involved in such a scandal while endorsing certain products, and so on. The executives' job is not being nice people. Their profession involves managing other people's assets, and thus their professional ethic involves protecting those assets and the related interests. Sometimes they may have to make hard choices and hurt people, as it is expected of them. To do otherwise would be to betray the trust put on them by their clients.

However, I want it to be clear that I am not taking one side over the other. To see Eunjung in the verge of losing pretty much everything she always fought to get is painful. Very painful, and it is frustrating to not be able to do anything. Yet the villains here are not the girls who made a mistake, nor the executives who do what they have to do to cope with the scandal. The villains are the netizens who blew this out of proportion and a certain CEO who should really invest in a spin doctor and shut his trap.

Nothing of this would have happened were it not for the K-Netizens and KKS. Everyone else is a victim on this, Idol or Executive, staff member or project manager. If we forget that we are no different than the Netizens themselves.

So I am just offering the other side of the discussion. Hating on the Executives for doing their job is no more sane than destroying a girl's life over a mistake and the fantasies built around it.

I'm well aware of this and agree. But again, what I'm trying to say is that keeping Eunjung from appearing on the show would mean keeping the interests of investors first. But assuring that she will have the role while scouting for a new actress is not. This has nothing to do with the investors' interests! If they had to drop her from the show, they should do it. We can't help but agree to the situation. But pretend that nothing is happening and suddenly make their move... that's cheap. Remember... this problem towards T-Ara happened days ago. And yet they waited until the last minute to announce their decision and, by the reported stories, they didn't even talked with the ones involved, neither Eunjung or her company. The least they could do was to tell first to those involved!

  3. Which is exactly what is expected from a professional in their role, as modern executives are expected to be detached, cold, and efficient, and maximise profit regardless of morality or ethics: Their jobs depend on it, and their careers depend on it, and their professional lives depend on it, and their personal lives depend on it. This is what it means to be professional in such an enviroment, and any other attitude would be deemed as amateurish and irresponsible.

I also don't see them as supervillains and understand the whys behind it. But, like Mongrolian said, you seem to understand the word 'professional' solely on the meaning of someone capable of doing a specific job while the word imply much more. As quoted from wikipedia:

Due to the personal and confidential nature of many professional services, and thus the necessity to place a great deal of trust in them, most professionals are subject to strict codes of conduct enshrining rigorous ethical and moral obligations.

Thus, calling them unprofessionals for the lack of ethical and moral on their recent actions is quite justified. Again... I don't condemn their decisions, but how they handled the situation.

  4. Eunjung is not quite popular right now, and they can get away with being mean to her.

The way they did things gave them the ability to look for another actress for the role while still both benefiting from the scandal and having the option to let Eunjung stay or make her leave depending on how things did play out. And so far it seems they got away with it, which while unfair reinforces the idea it was the right thing to do from a professional (detached, cold, "it's nothing personal") perspective focused on efficiency and revenue.

Just to make myself clear I am not saying it was nice of them to act in such a way but that the maneuver itself seems well played. The entertainment industry is a hellhole, and we all knew that.

Sorry, but I think that when you redeem someone as a professional you expect at least a ethical job. Sure, they played the best cards they could. But those moves where unethical towards the ones involved, so I can't call it a professionals move, but a move of opportunists trying to benefit the most from the situation regardless of who they should shove to achieve it.

  5. I wouldn't say this is unprofessional, myself.

The job of those making such decisions is not to be nice people but to generate as much revenue as possible. If they believe Eunjung will reduce their revenue or have the choice to replace Eunjung for a girl that would bring more revenue this behaviour is not at all surprising, and T-Ara's position of weakness allow them to try and get away with things they wouldn't be able to otherwise do.

I am not a hater but it was T-Ara's and CCM's failure to do their own job which caused this, with everyone else just reacting to the enviroment such failure created. It may not be nice but it's still their job.

If anything they seem to have left the door open to change their minds if it is better for them to do so. We will have to wait to see whether or not the reaction is such as for them to reconsider.

The act itself is not unprofessional, but how they handled it was. I understand that if they predict Eunjung being part of the show would bring more harm than benefits to the show they can replace her. But why wait until now? And why don't be honest with her and make it clear of their decisions or doubts? Why keeping pretending that she would be part of the show when at the same time their are looking for a new actress? That's why this was unprofessional.

  6. Woa! What a dirty move... Not only this delayed decision was already bad. But now we heard of such backstabbing actions... Even though I don't agree with them, I can't really blame them for taking Eunjung out of the show, because I understand the motives behind this. But the way that they handled the situation couldn't be worse... It just made everyone have bad feelings towards all this situation at hand.

  7. Seriously? Why do I feel that it is the company that is afraid and worried to cast Eunjung. Don't tell me they really bought the stories of that "rice-shoving" incident spreading around. Seriously they are just reading too much. Being in the industry and constantly getting involved with the press and media, they ought to know better what should and what should not do. It is unfair to cut off Eunjung if they are so concerned with getting backlashes from netizens and the general public. But the thing is, THIS should never be a concerned when it's not true. They should have known better. They'll regret their decision and slap themselves in the face if they were to remove Eunjung. Doesn't it prick their conscience? How can they behave like those sponsors who axe off T-ara from their endorsements. I wouldn't blame them because those sponsors wouldn't know much of the entertainment industry, and since their business goal is relies on people marketing for profit making. Any negative form of advertisements/images brings them damages. But SBS?! Hello, they are a huge media company. I thought they were better, but I guess I'm wrong.

And they probably just considered the amount of hate and tense surrounding this issue shown in public, but they never notice the amount of love and support that are still standing by them from the back. Are their judgements impaired? Yes, money does makes the world go round, it can buy you almost everything that is measurable, but you can never buy intangible things like love and trust.

Eunjung has been professional. She did not even shed a tear during her first appearance after this incident. She has been working hard for this role and what is wasteful is not Eunjung "hurting" the ratings nor is it people boycotting the advertised products. It is hardwork and effort gone down the drain, the loss of talent by pulling her out. Just not right to deny someone the opportunity to showcase and prove themselves when so much has been put in.

I hope SBS seriously reconsider their decision and come up with a reasonable verdict. It is not right to destroy or trample on a person for their own perceived reputation. I know it's a selfish world, but please be more empathetic. All the more they should embrace them when they are victimized by malicious cyber bullying. Why are they joining in. They should be taking corrective steps to lead the masses back on the right track. Will they condemn forever? If T-ara were to get back stronger again, I hope their skin will not be so thick to make use of their popularity for ratings again. What a materialistic world.

These three articles really doesn't do much justice.. >.<"

Well... those shows are sponsored by the same people that used to sponsor T-ara. And to be fair, i think their concern is valid to some degree, since they should predict the response of the masses regardless of the truth involved.

What I think its a shame it's to wait until now to make that decision. By doing it so suddenly it just arise problems and discomforts not only for Eunjung, but also for the whole cast and to the one replacing Eunjung (if it comes to happen).

With that said, I do hope that they reconsider it. I wouldn't care for the show without her.

  8. Well, Five fingers starts off with child actors so of course lead actors and actress will come later....Eunjung is confirmed for this role as the lead from the very start, and through the prescon + the interview I believe her role and character as Dami (as the sweet little Dami in the first two eps so far) is very pure, talent, optimistic and sweet and strangled in the love triangle which is very important in this makjang rich family drama like Five Fingers. Eunjung role is indeed, a protagonist. :)

I just wonder about the character issue. As a drama like this has the script not fully-written and some parts, it could change. I hope they make good development for the whole story because if Dami role evoles well and recieves a lot of love from the audience, Eunjung would be too. I strongly believe in her acting!!! Just ALL SHE NEEDS is A ROLE THAT IS IMPORTANT TO THE WHOLE STORY, MEANINGFULL AND MEMORABLE.

Eunjung role as Dami is very complicated as I know. She will be in the love triangle with both the sons of a makjang family, and ChaeSira who is the sons' mother seems to have something to do with the death of Dami's father...And EJ's character Dami will fought her way to achieve her dream and love as discover the truth about her family...SO DRAMATIC

I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR EUNJUNG TO APPEAR.......TWO WEEKS PLEASE FLY FAST !!!!!

Isn't this description of Dami (except for the talent) on par with Eunjung's character from Dream High? And yet by the time we hit the middle of the show her character had transformed from a pitiful girl to a villain.

  9. It was a long journey until I became really attached to this group! Thanks to random stumbles over the internet.

It all started on an random stumble on youtube where I discovered 4minutes' and got hooked by they music. At the time I was unaware of all the kpop trend and just listened to their songs. This seems unrelated now, but will makes sense later.

The next random stumble was a gif of TaeYeon from their debut. I was really shocked when I searched for the 'girls generation' that was written on their outfits and actually found something! That's when I finally found about kpop as is, with all the idols, variety shows, etc. Got a interest on SooYoung and started searching for videos of her from time to time, until I finally found her on Invincible Youth.

Upon discovering that video was from a show called Invincible Youth, I started searching for more, until I found a site linking all episodes of the show. Started watching the show to discover that SooYoung wasn't a regular on the show and was about to give up watching it until I made the link between Hyuna and 4minute. Since I didn't followed 4minute as a idol girl group, I didn't know anything about them. So for the sake of knowing someone from 4minute better, I kept watching the show.

At the beginning it was Hyuna, Sunny, Yuri and the other girls, but steadily they grow up on me and I started to look out after their group works. The show frequently used the bo peep bo peep song and dance and that was I searched for. Coincidentally, I did this around the japanese release of the song and I was soooo confused why the group sometimes had 6 members while on other MVs there was 7 members. Anyway... I found the music very addict but the cat outfit made me think of t-ara as a childish group and let it go.

It was only when I reached further episodes where they dances to that I realized the mistake I was probably making. That's when I searched more works of them and got hooked by their songs. They quickly became a favorite on my list.

    tldy version:

    Invincible Youth
