  1. I still don't think AKP should be completely absolved of responsibility here, and there were plenty of instances in the articles that they translated where they injected their own opinions, making it sound as if they were condemning T-ara for bullying Hwayoung when it hadn't even been proven that such was the case. However, I doubt they'll be sued...AKP caters to an international fanbase, and I think KKM is more focused on getting to the root of the problem, which is the Korean media that's been stoking the flames of the rumor mill since all of this started.
  2. Naaaah. To be honest I'm still inclined to believe that Hwayoung is his final ace in the hole. You guys just watch and see...he's already left the door open for her to come back, she apologized, for some reason I still think she'll make her way back to T-ara. And he'll milk it for all it's worth.
  3. ^Lol supposedly they were cleared for only 30 people to actually be able to protest. 30 out of 340,000. They're quickly becoming a joke. Anyways, this is about as close as they're going to get to what they're trying to accomplish, they'd be silly not to take him up on it. If KKS can handle this properly (and I still question his PR skills), then maybe, just MAYBE, this can do some good. We shall see.
  4. EMI's probably not saying much because they know how to play the game...they're saying as little about the controversy as possible, and really, at this point that's how it needs to be handled. No doubt this will blow over sooner in Japan than it will in Korea, and from what I understand J-Queens are a bit more loyal than K-Queens have proven themselves to be so far after having spoken to many people on the issue. Still, I have a hard time believing this has taken over the airwaves in Japan like it did it Korea. No doubt that J-netizens will probably voice some less than flattering opinions on the matter but I doubt it will be to the extent that Korean netizens have taken it. No doubt that K-netizens will cry foul if T-ara decides to focus on Japan for a bit, but at this point there's not a lot the girls can do that won't be heavily criticized, and it's certainly going to be the least of their concerns if they catch a bit of flack for heading to the land of the rising sun for a while. I don't expect them to head to Japan for several weeks either; and that's fine. The girls can use it as time off as I'm certain that with only two weeks left before their comeback and this mess far from cleared up, Sexy Love promotions will be postponed in Korea for now. And EMI has pretty much had their say...they're sticking by the girls obviously, especially if they're feeling optimistic enough to announce their plans of a stadium tour. Jewelry Box 's performance (both the album and the tour) exceeded most people's expectations and I doubt that EMI is going to give up on T-ara over this incident; as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that T-ara has a much better chance of salvaging their reputation in Japan than they do in Korea as they know how to advertise, they know how to play the game, and even if they're not COMPLETELY out of his grasp, they'll be away from KKS, even if just in distance. Who knows, it may be wishful thinking on my part.
  5. This is actually a step in the right direction. T-ara should probably just go focus on Japan for the time being anyways, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Scandal or no, as their popularity grew in Japan I figured they'd probably pull a KARA and focus on where the money is at since Jewelry Box is already their best selling album of all time to date, not factoring in repackages. Japan is much more tolerant of these silly idol scandals and, promisingly enough, Jewelry Box still continues to hold up well on the charts in spite of the controversy. This can give the Korean community time to cool down and come to their senses while T-ara works on cultivating their fanbase in Japan and improving relations over there. Who knows, we may be getting J-Sexy Love before K-Sexy Love.
  6. It was from a Korean source, leaked by (you guessed it)...anonymous sources. Seriously, glad to see that articles like this are painting netizens in a less than flattering light right now.
  7. Hear, hear! I agree completely. This situation is finally starting to take a turn for the better as there are now reports both internationally and domestically reminding netizens that nothing has been confirmed, and that they need to chill the feck out. Hopefully this means the girls will be able to start focusing on other things now, and people are coming to their senses. And I am 100% on board with your last comment. If this situation doesn't accomplish anything else it will definitely help the girls build character. If there was bullying going on, they've learned their lesson and they now realize that karma is a xxxx and everything you put out you will get back three-fold. I'm not on that side of the argument though, I actually believe it was more a case of internal conflict gone completely awry, and even now the girls will know that airing out your dirty laundry in public, no matter how ambiguously you do it, has its repercussions. This will help the girls grow and mature, and that's never a bad thing. Can I also say that I'm kind of glad this pared down the fandom? Obviously we had a lot of fakes and hangers-on who were only here because T-ara was the "it" girl for the last year, so it's nice to know that the people who are sticking by the girls' side are obviously true blue fans, and now we all know who to trust. That's another good thing that came out of this, I'm feeling so much closer to Queen's than I did before this mess began. I guess the old saying is true: every cloud has a silver lining.
  8. Good to see you're still with us, man. I thought about reaching out to you because I saw you were having some issues with the Soyeon rumors, but I didn't want you thinking I was trying to sway you one way or the other. If you ever need to talk or just rant, though, you're always welcome to message me, I'm more than happy to listen regardless of whether you stay in the fandom or not. You're a good guy. Things DEFINITELY seem to be calmer not only here, but on some other sites like Hallyu8 as well. There are still idiots spouting off at the mouth, but it seems like there have been more and more neutral-to-positive statements regarding T-ara both internationally and domestically over the past few days, so I think it's safe to assume that we're past the worst of it. As far as AKP goes, I've given up on that place, it's a dumpster just like you said, and trying to argue reason with anybody there is an exercise in futility. To be honest, I'm not thrilled with the way CCM (or KKM, lol) has handled this, but even he seems to be realizing that the mudslinging, lying and ambiguity of his statements haven't done anything but making it a million times worse. Stories such as the meeting with Hwayoung and Hyoyoung, and the actual statement that the police department is now officially looking into the stories about the backup dancer, are steps in the right direction, but they're steps that needed to be taken a couple of days ago. Hopefully the old adage "Better late than never" applies here. As far as the concerns that T-ara themselves may never speak...at this point I doubt we'll hear anything from them concerning the matter for a long time, if ever, and I'm doubtful as to what good it would do at this point. Groups such as T-Jinyo may claim that they want to hear the truth from T-ara's mouths, but I'm pretty sure what they REALLY want is the version of truth that most closely follows their own; anything else would just start the controversy up anew. Better for them to stay quiet for now, and I'm starting to believe that we'll never truly hear the full story. I definitely believe we've already heard waaaaay too much of it, and that's how this whole mess started in the first place. Regarding the conspiracy theories, I just don't have the energy to invest much into them at this point. And the girls' pasts surfacing in the midst of all the controversy is definitely suspect, but I'm reticent to believe that all of it is true. Even if it is, I can't bring myself to hate on them for mistakes they made when they were younger. I'm certainly no angel and don't expect them to be either. I'm really sorry to hear that about Soyeon, though, especially knowing that she is/was your favorite member. I have a hard time accepting the veracity of it though, since it's still an anonymous claim and it only surfaced after all of this mess started. There are, of course, two trains of thought; that a.) it's either more exaggerated claims on the netizen's parts, or b.) it's KKS pulling more of the same in order to keep the girls in line. In either case, it's despicable. We ALL make mistakes, and God knows I would be mortified if some of the stunts I've pulled in the past ever came back to haunt me. But I'm sorry that particular story about Soyeon caused you pain. I truly am. As far as how many SONEs go, I can't be certain, I've just noticed that out of all of the other fandoms I see a much larger number of them voicing their support in the matter than from other fandoms. To be honest I was expecting fans of groups like Big Bang, 2PM, SNSD and Super Junior to ALL come forward and voice their support since all of those groups have been embroiled in scandal at some point and time, but I guess I was wrong. It's every man for himself, I suppose. And I know the author you're talking about, too...it was CombatBaby, wasn't it? I've noticed that AKF seems to be taking a fairly neutral stance on the matter, but he was really pushing it with a lot of his comments on the matter. He really was acting no better than a lot of the antis and haters from other forums and blogs. It's always been my opinion that SONEs have had a soft spot in their hearts for T-ara though, and I have noticed a lot of support from them since all of this started. Their support is definitely invaluable right now, and I plan on returning it in kind...I've been on the verge of becoming a SONE for the past few months now, and although it may be contradicting what many say about them, this whole mess has made me realize that they're not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be. Not as a whole, anyways. And I totally, 100% agree with the last paragraph. Now is the time for the fandom to rebuild. We're pretty much having to start back at square one, but I think it can be done. Hopefully now that all of the crazies have had their say and are moving on to other places we can start planning our next move as a fandom. I'd really like to see more collaboration between both I-fans and K-fans from here on out since one area Queen's always lacked in was communication between the two fandoms. I know Diadem had good relations with them but it seemed like there were so many areas we always lacked in. And I'd love if the fandom could start focusing their attentions on KKS...whether that mean demanding better treatment for the girls or what, I don't know, and I'm not sure how we'd even go about it, but I'm all for it. One thing that I think we ALL can agree on is that KKS is not fit to manage anything, much less a girl group.
  9. Hahaha, that made me laugh! So funny, and so, so very true.
  10. ^Yes, it seems that the worst is finally coming to an end...it looks like a lot of people are now finally starting to take a step back and are realizing that what has been going on is NOT right. People are coming to their senses, or finally feel comfortable enough with the whole situation to speak up and discuss the matter in a more civilized manner. The anti's and haters are running out of things to do, so now we're at the "conspiracy theory" level of this whole mess, which is where most people start tuning out. I'm not saying it's over by a long shot, but at least things aren't the sh!tstorm that they've been for the last three days. It doesn't surprise me that a lot of SONEs are empathetic and are showing support to T-ara and their fandom...if any other fandom knows what it's like to have more antis than fans and basically be dragged through the mud, it's them. And God bless them for showing their support.
  11. Their appearance at this concert has been cancelled, and rightly so. They had no business being there with so many antis who are primed and ready to do something stupid to them at the first available opportunity.
  12. That's been taken completely out of context. The contest in question is not a popularity contest, but a contest to see who looks like the meanest girl in the group. They were probably laughing because they know Hwayoung is probably one of the sweeter, more mild-mannered members so it was funny to them. Hwayoung looked more upset that she was chosen than the members giggling over her being picked.
  13. All I know to do is to keep supporting them until the end, no matter how close or far away that may be. Maybe some of the moderators and admin at T-araDotCom were unable to come to terms with the allegations against T-ara. Maybe they're simply closing it down because of all the fighting in the fandom, and they just decided to take the site down simply so as not to give antis another place to flock to. Who knows? At this point I'm not sure it even matters. T-ara is in a bad place right now and all we as fans can do is stick this out to its conclusion, whatever that may end up being.
  14. Lol me too, the album is as good as bought. I've bought all of their other albums and repackages, this will be no different.
  15. Thank GOD, a break. Hopefully when he says that they're still arranging the schedules that means that Sexy Love is being pushed back for later release. Considering that up until yesterday things were going to continue on as usual and now the most overworked girl group in K-Pop is taking a break (ironic that it had to come to this in order for them to finally agree to a break), I'd say that means that CCM is very aware that the situation is too volatile for them to be actively promoting and making appearances. They need to take this time to figure out their next plan of action, because up until now they've failed spectacularly on putting a cap on this. Ultimately the best plan is going to take the longest to implement. It involves Hwayoung coming back, the announcement of an official hiatus, R&R for the girls, documented counseling to work on any internal issues they may be having, and then an official spot on SBS Strong Heart where they basically spill their guts prior to their comeback. That's what needs to happen but I doubt it will.
  16. Probably as a result of all the negative comments and hate they've been receiving. CCM just decided to shut them down for now. Probably for the best, it's one less outlet for people to be nasty on.
  17. No, it's not that he blames 6-ara, it's that he doesn't think it's fair to question the validity of a fan's loyalty just because they may not be sure if the bullying claims are true or not. Right now some peeps need to take a step back and just breathe. This has gotten completely out of control. This should be a safe place where we, as the fans, should be coming together and talking about all of this in a calm and rational manner...not ripping each other's throats out. T-ara's future is at risk right now, and to be honest I'm not sure it ultimately matters who did what...eight girl's lives (nine if you count Dani) is probably going to be ruined because of a few jerks on the internet with too much time on their hands. Regardless of your stance on the matter, right now is NOT the time to be tearing each other down. There are plenty of anti-fans out there who are MORE than happy to put us in our place. Let's not do it to each other.
  18. The sad fact is that even with all the new circumstances that have come to light (some more believable than others) a lot of people are going to continue to hold onto the bullying theory simply because it's what caught most people's attention in the first place. The damage has been done, I really don't think any amount of damage control from a spin doctor is going to make this go away.
  19. Maybe so, but it's par for the course for a company to halt all promotions indefinitely for a little while to let things cool down before coming back in the event of a scandal breaking loose. Lee Hyori did it for her plagiarism scandal, Big Bang did it when GD and Daesung's scandals came to light...Sexy Love is due for release in two weeks. Those stars had upwards of a year before they showed their faces again. I think it's partly a punishment because they WILL be embarrassed during the rest of their promotions for this year. It's already pretty much confirmed that refunds are being requested at an alarming rate for their Korean concert. Amazingly, Day By Day hasn't completely fallen off the charts like I expected...it's still holding up. The best course of action would be to let it end on a somewhat high note for now and come back when the environment isn't so hostile towards them.
  20. I absolutely HATE the amount of bashing Jiyeon is getting. She has not had a particularly easy life even BEFORE becoming an idol, and needless to say her time in the spotlight has not been without its ups and downs. I think her worst traits are that she's a tad immature and a little bit cold when you first see her, but that has more to do with her look than her actual demeanor. She's a young girl, for God's sake, people need to stop and realize that they are talking about someone's daughter, someone's sister, how in the WORLD would that make them feel if it was them in her or her family's shoes? Needless to say I don't believe Jiyeon is guilty of bullying anyone. In her tweet, she applauds the "acting genius." Do I think it was directed at Hwayoung? Absolutely. If she told Japanese reporters that she was horribly upset about turning everything upside down during their Budokan concert and then came right back to Korea and refused a performance, I'd call her out on it too. Not on Twitter, but I'd have words. She was catty, yes, but I do think it was more frustration at Hwayoung than bullying. That's just my opinion on it, anyways.
  21. She does indeed have that power, if it didn't happen. I doubt she'd do it though, even if it was the case. What does she have to gain from it? KKS has ruined her, likely she doesn't feel the need to do the other members of T-ara any favors.
  22. Oh, by no means do I agree with what KKS is doing right now. He's only making the girls look worse and worse every time he releases another statement, and I really do wish he'd just shut the hell up. T-ara needs to go on hiatus, that much is clear. Sexy Love will keep until next year, for now, they need a break to clear the air because sending them out for another round of promotions so shortly after this fiasco is simply throwing them out to the wolves. Part of me thinks that's their punishment.
  23. Promotions for Sexy Love will go on as scheduled. God, I wish he'd just let up on them for a bit. They need to disappear for a while. If Sexy Love is a hit then I will trade in my nursing license and work at Burger King for the rest of my life.
  24. My heart went out to her while watching that performance too. She clearly struggled. The only thing I would've done different is call Hwayoung out on it in person. This whole mess started because of Twitter, hopefully the girls think twice from now on before taking to it to express their thoughts and opinions on the matter.
  25. It's supposed to prove that she was indeed supposed to perform at this week's MuBank performance, and for whatever reason backed out at the last minute.
