About Me

So here's a preface to the topic I'd start about T-ara's charity events:

Gandhi said something like, "take action to help people first; worry about the politics of helping others second." That's a bad paraphrasing of the quote, but the idea was basically that if you want to help people, you should just do so, rather than stopping yourself and wondering things like "would I just be keeping them from learning how to help themselves?" and things like that (i.e., many of the arguments behind the economic policies of the political right). Now, just because Gandhi says it doesn't necessarily make it an ultimate truth - a debate for another time, and now that I mention it, for another person - but it's relevant to T-ara's works of charity because it stands to reason that the idea to do those works of charity probably did not originate with T-ara...

And maybe I'll develop that line of questioning later.

Hah. So I don't know, I won't bother to look into it, but you tell me - is the fandom getting tired? Tired of dealing with the bully scandal, tired of the haters, tired of unflinching opposition, tired of sponsorships and roles being undone, tired of Mr. Kim in general, and tired of feeling (being?) so helpless about everything?

I dunno, my feelings about the Hwayoung situation aside, I can't really just be all "business as usual" with the new release. Looks okay, sounds okay, but with everything, I can't like it maybe as much as I would otherwise, or as much I want to. Again, discretion and all, no details, even if no one's reading this, but yeah.

It's funny, though, with the story vid - kinda looks like we've seen almost every moment from that vid, between the preview/teaser materials, the making of stuff from the Day by Day vid, and photos from the Day by Day album and stuff.

Maybe there's some way Mr. Kim endures real professional consequences himself in all this, like perhaps Hwayoung returns and the group... somehow and suddenly emboldened... I don't know, I'm tired. Maybe in a press conference... would it go over well if they called him out, even obliquely? Get that ball rolling...

Anyway, I'm beginning to feel like there's nothing "special" I can talk about here, again, and since I can't really go back to posting about frivolous stuff like I would at first, what with T-ara's situation being what it is, and given my feelings about it, I guess I'm back to hibernation.

i wonder, if Mr. Kim's oft-cited "30yrs. experience" has told him that the masses can only actively hate about something for about a month at a time.
