light-plus reacted to linhee in comparing t-ara's controversy with other idols
I think that light-plus brought up a very important factor - the different "judging" system a girl group and a boy group goes through.
I personally think that it's a lot easier for male idols to rebound from any controversy compared to females. But this also makes me wonder, what would happen if it was a male group that is being exposed of "bullying"? I've read so many opinions that its in a girls nature to bully/be a xxxx. And that really offends me. It's like they're giving a free pass to all boys because it's not in their "nature" to bully or be a xxxx.
Another is the environment in which T-ara is in. It's similiar to all the other idol groups out there, but the key difference is that they're made to believe that they are replaceable. Each member is threatened and is put under enormous amounts of pressure to pretty much obey any command they get. The environment that they're in is hostile and shouldn't be put on anyone. The way in which they are treated, as replaceable, is demeaning and undermines the hard work that they have put in to succeed.

And you forget; Nichkhun''s part of 2PM, a boy group. Kpop is run mostly by fangirls. Kpop fans are also very sexist, whether they realize it or not.
When a girl does a suggestive dance, netizens call it slutty. When a guy does a suggestive dance, netizens call it sexy.
When a girl takes a bunch of pictures of herself, netizens call it camera-whoring. When a guy takes a bunch of pictures of himself, netizens call it eyecandy.
When a girl shows her stomach, netizens call her shameless. When a guy shows his stomach, they say it's drool worthy.
    EXOm Kris's 'bitchface' is sexy, but f(x) Krystal's 'bitchface' is...well, b.itchy.
When a guy acts cold, they say he's had a bad day. When a girl acts cold, they say she's got a horrible attitude.
When a Nichkhun made a mistake, netizens said 'it's okay, he'll learn from this!" "Stop hating on my Khunnie, everyone makes mistakes".(No offense to Hottests intended) Maybe him coming clean with lots of solid evidence of both the mistake and him taking a long break off did help. Him having a 'perfect angel' image probably helped him, along with the huge Hottest fanbase. You can tell the biased-ness is obvious.
When T-ara made their mistake, netizens said 'shun them from the world cuz T-ara are bullies and unworthy'. Then having previous scandals and a crappy company/CEO/PR manager didn't help either. KKS' way of dealing with the situation made even other artists in the Kpop community point their fingers to him instead of T-ara, and when some big people in the kpop world started turning their backs, others did too.
I guess it's a bit hard to understand. DUI and Bullying are huge no-no's in Korea apparently (a korean friend of mine had to explain this to me xD). Honestly, if T-ara's controversy didn't happen when it did, Nichkyun's DUI incident would have blown up quite a bit.
IMO, I think that even though Nichkyun's incident was worse (because he willingly drove even though he was drunk), his PR management is amazing (JYP, what else do you expect?) and they dealt with the situation quickly and efficiently.

Sorry, it was so late when I wrote that, I see millions of mistakes in my grammar, lol. I almost think I should delete it. You seem to know what I was trying to say, but I meant to write I don't think you're fake if you doubt them or are disappointed but still support them, and I don't think you're delusional if you believe they are innocent. It's what you're basing your opinions on that matter, and whether you are looking at the problem from both perspectives.A big part of the appeal of Kpop is the flawless image of the idols, so I can't bash on that aspect too much. I just wanted to clarify I have no problem with people having very high expectations for their idols, but I don't think it's right to throw out poorly formed accusations when they let you down.
Even though I think member additions were a mistake, I still like Hwayoung a lot, and I miss her. Too bad it ended up like this.

As much as I agree with this...how is this news? If anything, this is an opinion piece. I'm not trying to be funny; I'm honestly confused.
But one thing I'd like to point out - why do people insist on "hearing from T-ara"? You're obviously not expecting them to admit anything; they wouldn't be allowed anyhow. I fail to see why we cannot make our own conclusions, and people who say otherwise are trying to avoid what they do think.

light-plus got a reaction from xEunjungxJiyeonx in [POLL] Bullying - True or Not?
    - The definition of 'Bullying' is in the eye of the beholder. Physical bullying, Verbal bullying, Psychological bullying. Outcasting/isolation. Public embarrassment. Gossip. Prejudice. Cold attitude. Those are all forms of bullying.
And mind you, bullying can be in different frequencies. Daily, once in a while, when someone's having a bad day, once or twice. But that doesn't mean it never happened even if it only happened once.
Here's one way to help anyone define 'bullying': if someone did that to you, would you be hurt? If I punched you in the mouth, that would hurt right? But what if your friends started leaving you? What if they constantly laughed at you and your mistakes, even if they were your 'friends'? What if the people you live with, your family, avoided you. What if your classmates sneered at you and gossiped about you? Would it hurt?
    A few more points:
    - Hwayoung is unhappy (that's not to say T-ara isn't unhappy though).
    - Hyoyoung is Hwayoung's other half. They probably share things a lot, and share things they wouldn't share to anyone else. Call me stupid or foolish, but I trust in Hyoyoung's words.
    - Anything T-ara says from now on is highly likely to be scripted; this includes Tweets, speeches, announcements, etc. So anyone saying, "I'll wait for T-ara to say something" "I won't believe anything unless T-ara says it". Well. You'll be waiting a while, and you'll be waiting for nothing. Also, (assuming it did happen) admitting to something like that is hard, especially to your fans. Trust me, admitting your darkest side's existence to the world is not something on any idol's to do list.
    - Anything KKS says is highly likely to be something stupid. You have 5 days worth of his idiocy, fairytales, lies, and contradictions as proof.
    - Now switch your thinking. Instead of what has happened, think about what hasn't. All those rumors about bullying have ignited into a giant bonfire. Yet KKM has only refuted it once, saying they weren't bullying her (which was in Hwayoung's contract termination press release). All the other times, he says "it has nothing to do with the 'bullying' rumors".
If I was in charge of these sweet little girls and was sure they would never do such a thing, I would stop at nothing to stop all rumors. After all, where do the roots of all this start? It wasn't actually Hwayoung leaving if you think about it. It's why she left. Why did she leave? People aren't outraged mostly because of the fact that Hwayoung has left, but because of why. Because she was 'bullied'. If I was KKS, I would think of T-ara and their image before your own pride. Take the time to clear T-ara's name as 'bullies' (if they aren't) instead of trying to take down Hwayoung's name as 'victim'.
But it's kind of hard to do that if it really did happen. If he would publicly stress the part of T-ara not bullying Hwayoung, yet it was false, then he'd be in danger of Hwayoung speaking the truth of her being bullied. And if KKS releases a statement saying T-ara are not bullies, and Hwayoung replies saying that she was in fact bullied, who do you think the public would believe?
But as I said. It all depends on what you, as a fan, and what the public+netizens think 'bullying' is. Where I live, 'bullying' is usually on of those big kids beating a kid up for lunch money. However, because of culture difference, the more common form of bullying in Korea is making someone a "social outcast" (wangdda). Search it up, it's pretty interesting . And sad.

/Sigh/. It's okay T-ara. You guys had some good times together (minus Hwayoung). At least this happens now so you won't have to deal with two new members. Your happy little 6-ara that you wanted to badly is coming true. Okay, bad thing to say right now.
I do feel bad for T-ara now. It sounds like one of those typical Korean dramas; everything is so unrealistically dreary, everything is going horrible, nothing seems right, and it seems like it's never going to get better, only worse. Maybe the drama will end up happy. Hopefully no one gets amnesia or gets some rare incurable illness and has to leave for the states .___.

Isn't it amazing how one tiny statement is so much more believable than all the press releases, statements, announcements, claims, stories, and all that BS.
-"These malicious lies are all over the Internet and articles, and it's making it harder for Hwayoung and T-ara." Yup, and most of them are from you smartass.
-"I hope that Hwayoung will stop making comments because people take it to mean more than it should while fueling more false reports and creates more damage." She's made 3 tweets. Three. Each only defending her self, while you keep spewing out attacks to try to tarnish her rep.
-"Yesterday I met with Hwayoung and Hyoyoung's parents and told them the background of the story and they understand." Um, duh? The have two daughters slaving away under your command and you finally release one of them. I really wouldn't be surprised if you either sugar-coated it for them or said it straight out that you'll use Hyoyoung if they say or do anything.
-"The idea of this not being the truth started from Hwayoung herself because her tweet gave a different concept and implied that everything was a lie." Good job detective. She tweeted "...facts without truth", what else do you think it would have meant? And what else do you think they are? Also, you said in your press release that Hwayoung was lazy, ill-mannered, selfish, and had bad character. Who the hell do you think is going to believe that? Not only are you a horrible CEO, you're also a horrible liar; you can't even get your lies straight, your stories sound like fairytales, and you contradict yourself like no tomorrow.
-"The spread and continuous posting of malicious and false rumors without a break is giving the other parents a harder time as well so I hope reporters can check with our agency before publishing articles." HAHA. That's funny. Borderline hilarious. Think that's actually gonna work? All that'll do is make everything go on your side. Do you really think we're that stupid?

She didn't talk to the makeup artists or the other members. She only focused on her work. She always smiled at the staff. She left a good impression. light-plus got a reaction from park1jy in [12.06.22] T-ara's ninth member Dani, "I want to join T-ara on stage before December!"
Honestly, my first reaction was like "wtf is this kid thinking?"
But then, after thinking about it for a moment, I kind of feel that she wants to debut faster so people can see her talent. It's no doubt that she already knows how stupidly unwelcome she is in T-ara.
A lot of people were against Hwayoung too right? But then, Hwayoungie debuted and we were blown away by her rapping talent. Perhaps she thinks that she can also appeal to us more by being an "amazing T-ara addition" rather than "some bratty kid".
She probably wants to prove herself worthy. A fourteen year old- no, a soon to debut artist can only take so much hate before breaking down. This applies to all artists, no matter the age.
C'mon, let's not be so immature.
    1) We need to support T-ara as a whole. You can't support 7-ara anymore w/o the two new members.
    2) No matter how much we hate the choice, KKM isn't going to revoke their decision. Nothing is going to be done unless the two new members themselves withdraw.
    3) If the two new members do withdraw, how do you think that will reflect of T-ara and us Queens?
    4) Put yourselves in Dani's shoes for minute, and read all the hateful comments circulating everywhere. You think those comments are harsh? You think those are a damn lot of hateful comments? Then think of how many and how harsh the comments are in Korea and Japan, T-ara's main promoting areas.
I'm not saying you should absolutely adore her, just, please, don't hate on her.
