A very respectable #7 debut on MCountdown, I don't think anyone can say that it is a flop, right?

Theirs MVs are currently ranked #1, 4, 5, 7 and 9, despite some of these MVs having been released 2 months ago. Based on my observation of the fan cafes in BaiDu, I would say the ranking of girl groups in terms of popularity in China would be something like this:
1)SNSD
2)F(x)
3)T-ara
My judgment is based on the number of 'fan signatures' the groups receive on a daily basis. However, it must be noted that the Chinese K-pop market is still highly dominated by fan girls of male groups. It would be interesting to see if T-ara's popularity will rise meteorically in China when they focus on the Chinese market as 'declared' by CCM. T-ara managed to gain their currently popularity in China before they had any promotion in China (they were this popular before their recent concerts in China and their attendance at the Anhui Chinese New Year Festival).

Interesting and good at the same time that someone has actually bothered to do a piece on T-ara's sales figure. It feels like I'm in a business meeting of some sort.
But what I think is relevant is that this is exactly the information that business executives, decision makers and investors are really interested in. These are the realities of not only the music industry but of the outside world as well. For something to get the go ahead it has to be commercially viable. In the case of T-ara, definitely sales figures will be important to decision makers as to the future of T-ara.
Think about it, will anyone one of us be willing to invest in something that is losing or not bringing in the money? It's the same in the music industry. The company will not be willing to pour more money into T-ara if they find that T-ara's sales figure's are just not meeting financial targets? How can they? Composers, MVs production and staff all need to be paid. So, while we always hope for a good song and MV from the girls, it all depends on the company's budget and sales expectations of the albums and songs. So let's not be too critical in labelling some of these agencies as greedy. Basically, they need to get a return on their investments.

Which stats are a year and a half old? If you meant Gaon's numbers, yes apparently the oldest stats available right now is the last week of Dec 2012.
My apologies for not clarifying what I'm talking about in my post. It's all about Korean activities. I didn't touch Japanese numbers because I never followed that venue closely enough to say anything. I can't read Kanji, so researching on Oricon website would be a headache, while Gaon provides English option.
I'm not sure which past you were referring here. I did not dwell upon the scandal itself. But if by 'past' you meant the sales numbers, then every statistics is the past. Again, my post is only aiming to lay out the data available out there in an easier-to-see-and-understand way.
I have definitely let go of the 'past' (scandal) as I'm too happy with T-ara's return as a 6-member group

Somehow, I've got high hopes for the new song. Mainly because the teaser pics are really amazing! This concept photo of Hyomin just looks fun. Hope the song is the same.

Wow doesn't even come close to describing how amazing the cover looks. Seriously, this is way better than my expectation. Everything looks great! The whole concept and the girls look just fantastic! Can't wait for the MV which will be even more mind blowing.

It doesn't surprise me one bit to still see antis and hating 6-aras to say that Areum won't make it, because they don't even have any clue on her hard working progress inside Core Contents Media. Like they ever did in the first place, such stupidity. So, they are going around with their childish antics and telling everybody about their stupid, illogical, so-called reasoning, like comparing her to other artists, when there's no grounds in comparing Areum's current solo work at all, because nobody outside of Core Contents Media, which includes antis and spiteful 6-aras, knows what she's doing for her solo debut. All the while still beating the dead horse argument of their drummed up delusions and illogical assumptions on the status quo of Core Contents Media, and their idiotic thinking and utter paranoia on the music market.
I, like many others, are looking forward to seeing what Areum will bring to the stage, and she's always welcome to rejoin T-ara, and many fans will always support her, because she's part of the T-ara and Core Contents Media Family.

It's unfair to pass judgement on Areum's future at such an early stage of her career and one definitely can't make a comparison between well established kpop idols and Areum. There is definitely no comparison if one were to judge someone with years of experience and training with Areum who was with T-ara for about a year and before that in school studying and training.
Despite the fact that she was so new to the kpop scene, one can actually see her talents shine through during her time with T-ara. As earlier noted, she can dance, rap and sing. And this fact is not lost on CCM as she was given several prominent roles in T-ara's song. I mean, how good was she in her solo in sexy love? A true recognition of her still raw talents. And while most of us are sad to see Areum's departure from T-ara, in a way it speaks of how highly the company thinks of her to take a valuable asset out of T-ara and to make solo career out of it. Whether one agrees with such a decision is a whole different story. But for me personally, from what I've seen of Areum's talents and performance, I really like what I see. I am definitely looking forward to see more of her. A real diamond in the rough!
Of course one cannot expect each and every kpop artiste to reach the level of success achieved by the likes SNSD and Super Junior. But does that mean if one cannot get to the top one should not even try? That's the easy way out isn't it? The road to success is long journey. Don't expect instant success and results. As long as one has the talents and ready to work hard for it then one can live with a clear conscience to say at least I gave it my best shot. Like they say nothing ventured nothing gained.
