"To restore Eunjung's reputation, we will advocate her rights!"

Regarding Tara Eunjung's receiving of an unilateral notice of termination from the drama production company, the Korean Entertainment Management Association (KEMA) has expressed its position.

The KEMA on the 23rd published to the media an article titled "Opinion on the Unreasonable Unilateral Breach of TV Drama Contract"

According to this article, for the success of Five Fingers, Eunjung had given up her other schedules, including overseas activities, showing her sincerity to fully participate in the drama production, but the production team of "Five Fingers" on the 21st, requested with no legitimate reason, that Eunjung leave the drama on her own accord, mentioning that if she did not comply with the request, they would put pressure on Eunjung and her agency.

Eunjung's side did not understand this, and requested for a reason for withdrawal, but the production team only referred to the modification clause of the contract stating that the situation was not in the best interests of the drama production.

The KEMA stated "If it is necessary to change the cast during drama production, it should be be discussed with the actor under the premise of mutual understanding and negotiation, but the production team and SBS on the 22nd did not relate any information to Eunjung about her withdrawal, but announced her termination through the media"

It also stated "Through various evidence and proof, this association has verified and is shocked by this oppressive act of the production team."

The KEMA said "This association works to improve the practices of drama production and to develop a healthy industry by eradicating old practices. Therefore, from a few years ago, starting with the problems of unpaid acting fees, this association has worked to improve such unreasonable contracts and practices." "Such efforts can been seen in the 'Drama Production Standard Acting Contract' project developed along with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

KEMA's article concluded by stating "We will advocate for Ham Eunjung's rights to restore her reputation as she has been unreasonably harmed as described above. To ensure that all relevant parties in this incident will not be harmed, we anticipate a reasonable solution from the drama production team."

Were they trying to terminate Eunjung's contract through the media and take advantage of t-ara's current situation? If that is the case, seriously the producers and SBS are so ****'ed up!

Not sure if I even want Eunjung back in the drama... :( This is all so messed up...

*sigh*

They're only doing this now? The damage has been done, eunjungs drama contract have already been terminated. they should've done this yesterday or hours just after the "five fingers sudden contract termination" have started to spread...

The K-entertainment industry really isn't as effective as what we see as a fan/viewer. They're just digging up their own grave.

Soon, people around the world will get tired from all these issues surrounding th k-entertainment industry if they continue to be like this.

If it wasn't for the T-ara and all other k-pop idols that I love, I would've stopped supporting the K-entertainment industry..

All of these misfortune that has been surrounding T-ara started when KKS terminated hwayoung's contract. They should really be handled by a better company.

T-ara aside, 2012 looks pretty bleak for even the largest broadcasting companies in Korea, considering MBC and KBS ended up having their own employees go on strike earlier this year and now SBS gets itself dragged into this.

Considering KEMA happens to also have links and cooperates with the South Korean government (as seen earlier in the year), sh!t just got real.

It's only a matter of time that pathetic company known as CCM starts making a big fuss about it and as usual, probably will make things worse >____>

I'm gettin' tired of this drama. We actually might as well say Eunjung and the whole of T-ara are really in a drama itself - except there's no cameras and staff around.

Finally this is something right that has been done in the midst of all these controversies. There needs to be a new Anti-Cyber Bullying Association in Korea to advocate rights of artistes and protect artistes from being victimized by netizens as well.

The production team may very well have just slapped themselves in the face.

This is why I'm quite grateful that we are not hearing anything from CCM yet.

This has gone way out from a dismeanor or internal dischord. It has gone too far, to the point of making a joke of the 'initial' scandal can be considered criminal. Why? It has spawned much greater evils and the primary victims here are T-ara.

Speaking of crime, we have one staring our faces. Such abuse. Such impunity. And for what? Profits. Legal action is now in order. No, its a MUST.

They make such demand of the truth, and yet twist to suit their ends? What rubbish. Against this we should demand:

"Justice for Eunjung, Justice for T-ara. And REFORMATION of the K-entertainment industry"

Since T-ara & CCM is in such a bad press position & SBS can easily spin the T-ara story to what manner of reporting they would like in their TV entertainment news + ban CCM from their shows, it won't be smart for CCM to make a large fuss (like launching a law suit) over the unilaterally unfair action which I guess is what the TV station is counting on..

So I am really happy that at least some people outside of CCM (which often make matters worse) are actually fighting for Eunjeung's reputation and realizing that this type of prosecution is really not healthy for K-pop in general.

@xbot - Even still, going up against one of the three largest broadcasting companies of the whole country is a pretty dangerous game and they're likely to play hardball if attacked at - this is a whole lot different from going up against entertainment agencies, who RELY on these three companies to show their artists in front of the screen of millions.

Although it would be ridiculous for CCM to make a fuss about this, it IS CCM after all. Known to make some of the most dumbest mistakes in Kpop that is worth noting down and it wouldn't be surprising if they did something stupid and make the whole situation a heck lot worse.

Just look at how they handled Hwayoung's departure and the circumstances surrounding it. It's not exactly surprising that both KBS, MBC and SBS themselves are likely to see T-ara in a pretty negative aspect like the public does, aside from ratings and profit - if this is the case, then it's probably their way of saying 'F U!' to CCM while T-ara is part of the collateral damage.

It's good that someone is finally stepping up to the plate and calling out these companies for being irresponsible. I don't really want to jump to any conclusions yet, but I think its a step toward the right direction to have people (other than us fans) realize that Eunjung and the rest of T-ara aren't being treated on equal ground as everyone else.
