Each member has put forward equity/taken a stake in the shopping mall and participate on even more levels. Since T-ara Dot Com has only recently opened, it generates a revenue 30 million won per day and is taking its first steps as a successful internet shopping mall.

If they're taking some stake [in the company] then they're probably getting something back from the revenue.

Or perhaps when T-ara Dot Com is closed down for some reason, they'll probably get some percentage each.

It's revenue. 30 million won comes in. God knows how much goes out.

There's the site bandwidth, which will be crazy because people will visit without buying.

There's the website administrator costs, warehouse costs, other labor costs (since the

girls won't be carrying the big boxes of merchandise around), the actual cost of producing

the items, the fees for the model, any licensing costs for logos... revenue isn't profit people!

It doesn't matter if your revenue is 30 million won if your costs are 31 million won. That's

negative profit... I hate how Korean business owners always talk about their revenue and

not their profits.

makes complete sense. once there is negative profits, its becomes a liability. actually most of the money earned is to be be taken by the company to pay for those crew like the directors, camera men, lighting crew, writers etc. the girls only get a small amount of the overall. it is not that easy becoming an idol too. on the surface they may seem all happy, but whats below the surface they will also encounter problems that we could never imagine. like the few aspects oniontaker listed out.

What!! their shop is gonna close down too?!!omg...

but, they earn lots & lots of money. haha. $_$

closing down? o.o

they earned a lot though!

that's amazing since they're amateur and things lol(:

thanks for sharing!

wow thats alot for something that just started. congrats to them! but wat is it saying that they are closing down? is that right?

What the article means is that if EVER T-ara dot com closes down, the girls might get a percentage of the shares from the site. And about the 30 million won, Onion pretty much summed it up. It's just the total they make a day. At the end, you have to divide that between costs, staff, the girls, models, etc. So it seems like a lot, but it really isn't.
