Prologue

Seven Years Ago

The man looked at his family's photo as a tear ran down his cheek. To save his family, he sold his soul to the devil. To save his family, he sacrificed another. No matter how many good deeds he had done, it would never be enough.

"Daddy, why are you crying?"

He looked at his daughter and pulled her in as he hugged her closely. His thoughts wandered to the family he destroyed again. They had a daughter too.

The doorbell broke his train of thoughts. He looked up as he heard his wife's footsteps. That was weird. They weren't expecting anyone.

"Hey, a girl says she is looking for you!" He heard his wife shout.

"Let her in then."

"Are you sure?" His wife poked her head into his room. "She's wearing a mask and she looked like she's one of those homeless orphans begging for money."

"All the more reason to let her in." He said feeling the guilt again.

His wife disappeared behind the wall again. She reappeared a few minutes later, a girl wearing a cloak and a mask next to her. She looked frail and it was as though she hasn't eaten for days. Her hands and legs were covered with bruises and scratches, some even looked fresh.

"Do you want something to eat?" The man smiled at her. "Maybe a drink or..."

"No."

"Ok. What do you want to meet me for?"

She walked up right in front of his desk. Her eyes glared into his. He felt that guilt again. She reached for her pocket and took out a photo. She threw it in front of him. The man's eyes opened wide in surprised as he picked up the photo.

"Boram, could you go to your mommy?" He forced a smile at his daughter.

He looked as his daughter left his side and ran to his wife. He placed his hands on his head and closed his eyes in deep thought. He started shaking as he tried to control himself. The guilt was once again taking control of him.

"I'm sorry. I really am."

"I know that you were not the only one. I want names." She said as she took the photo back.

"Please. Don't do this. I will atone for my sins. I will! Just please. For your parents sake, don't walk down this route."

"You have no rights to talk about my parents."

"I know, I know. But, please, the path of vengeance will ruin your life. I already ruined your life enough, giving you the names would just..."

"Do you want to know how it feels?" She reached into her pocket. "To lose your whole family."

The man's eyes widened as she pulled out a gun. She pointed the barrel at his wife and daughter. His wife screamed when she saw it as her daughter shivered in her arms.

"Okay...okay...;just relax." He said as he pulled out his pen and started writing something in the notepad.

"If a single name is wrong, I will come for their heads." She gestured to his wife and daughter.

"That's all I know. Please...think carefully...you don't want to do this...Ti..."

"Bang!" The shot rang out as his body slumped on to the table. His wife screamed and his daughter started crying loudly. The girl placed her gun back into her coat as she picked up the piece of paper. She folded it as she made her way out, stopping in front of the man's daughter.

"Boram, isn't it? I'm an assassin. Come find me when you are capable enough to avenge your father."

She walked out of the house and looked around. It wasn't too bad. Killing that is. She strolled down the lawn as she looked at the people in the neighborhood. Some of them had come out after hearing the gunshot. She slipped past all of them and into a black car that was waiting for her.

"How was it Fany?"

"Wasn't too bad at all Yunho. Told you I could do it." She stuck her tongue out.

"It's only your first kill. Don't be too happy."

"All right Ahjusshi. By the way, I got a list of names of people who betrayed my parents. The next person I need to..."

"No."

"Aw, come on Ahjusshi, I have to do this! You know it!"

"No."

"Father." Yunho leaned forward from the backseat. "You have to let her! I'll help her with it. We won't trouble you..."

"No...not until after we stop Reapers. After that you can do whatever you want."

"Fine."; Tiffany pouted as she leaned back.

"Hey, just wait awhile longer okay? I'll help you with it once we're done with this." Yunho placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Are you sure?" Tiffany turned and looked at him. "This path of vengeance..."

"Yes." Yunho smiled at her. "We'll walk this path together. Vengeance."

Hm, sequel came out faster than expected, haha.

Seems like Boram's gonna be playing a huge role in this one now O.o

Looks like Fany and Yunho are much more darker characters than in the first story too.

I'm wondering as to how this will play out...hmmm...

Chapter 1

Present Day

10:00AM Incheon Airport

“Unnie…” Jiyeon said as they walked towards the check in area. “How long will you be gone?”

“I don’t know…” Hyomin said as she placed a hand around Jiyeon. “But hey, don’t worry, you are living with Qri now. You can treat her like family.”

“We’ll get along just fine.” Qri smiled at them and then to Sunny. “Considering moving in with us?”

“Thanks but…give me a bit more time.”

“Thinking about Tiffany?” Jiyeon asked.

“I just want to be at home if she ever decides to come back and look for me.”

They walked in silence for the rest of the distance. They stopped in front of the area and exchanged hugs with Hyomin.

“Well, I guess I’ll see you guys in a year or so.” Hyomin shrugged as she took out her passport and boarding pass.

“Hey…unnie…” Jiyeon said quietly.

“Yea?”

“Do you think…Eunjung unnie really left cause of what I did? You know? Because I killed Jangwoo and…”

“No…don’t believe the nonsense the newspaper have been writing.”

“But…”

“Hey.” Hyomin hugged Jiyeon. “You’re the person she loves the most. She would never do that.”

“We’ll find Eunjung. I promise you.” Sunny said as she placed her hand on Hyomin’s shoulder.

“Thanks.” Hyomin forced a slight smile. “Hey, it’s been one hell of a ride with you.”

“It has.” Sunny smiled as she pulled Hyomin in for a tight hug.

“And unnie.” Hyomin turned to Qri. “You are the best forensic pathologist I ever know.”

“After you say that, I guess I have to find Eunjung for you too then.” Qri smiled as she too embraced Hyomin.

“Well, goodbye.” Hyomin said as she tried to control her tears.

She hugged all of them one last time before she turned around and checked in. Jiyeon looked as she went, tears whelming up in her eyes. Eunjung and Hyomin were both gone, she was all alone again.

2:00AM AKDT Alaska

Hyomin bit her lips in deep thought as the car drove down the snowy path. They had sent an agent to pick her up from the airport as soon as she had arrived. She had not managed to get any sleep for the whole trip and was totally wasted.

Still, her mind was somewhere else. Her heart felt heavy as images of Jiyeon’s teary eyes flashed in front of her. When Jiyeon had first heard the news of Eunjung disappearing, she had cried for days refusing to drink or eat anything. Hyomin had never seen her break down like that before.

A tear ran down her cheeks as she thought of everyone she had left behind. They all thought that the stone was destroyed, that all this crazy action had finally come to a stop. She knew better. Everything was far from over, it was only the beginning.

Hyomin snapped out of her thoughts as the car came to a halt. She looked out of the window. The entire place was covered with snow and she could barely make out a tent some distance away. She stepped out of the car and shivered as an icy cold breeze blew past.

The agent led her to the tent. She was about to go in when she noticed a short figure sitting outside, her back facing the entrance. It was the skull on her shoulder that had captured her attention. She was told that it was a sign of an elite. That was their rank.

“Come inside.” Hyomin looked up to see a white-haired man holding open the flap of the tent for her.

“Thank you.” She mumbled as she quickly stepped inside.

“For now, I will be your superior. It is for security reasons that you don’t know my name so you can just address me as sir.” He said as he extended his hand.

“Yes sir.” Hyomin took his hand. “I’m an NIS agent. My name is…”

“I know who you are, Hyomin.” He cut her off. “And no. You are not in NIS anymore. Right after you leave this tent, you are an elite.”

“Are you a…”

“Elite? No. There’s only one in the world, you being the second.” He paused for a moment. “Once you leave this tent and become an elite, the only superior you will have will be the president. I will just be a normal agent to you.”

“The person outside…”

“She’s the first. She will also be the one that will train you.” He gave her a rather forced smile. “It will be tough. That girl out there will put a bullet in anyone’s head without thinking twice.”

“Where did she come from?”

“I don’t know. It’s confidential. But, rumors are that she has a score to settle with the Assassin.” He smirked as he looked at Hyomin’s expression. “A word of advice. Never mention her height. That might be the last thing you ever say.”

“Right. So what do I have to do?”

“Before I pass you over to her, I’ll fill you in with some information.” He took out some sort of military armor and a rank with a skull. “Your equipment.”

“Thanks.” Hyomin mumbled as she took it and put it on.

“I shall try my best to tell you about elites.” He cleared his throat. “Basically, you are special ops units with the license to kill. Don’t tell your other elite I say this or she’ll have a bullet in my head but in my opinion, you are very similar to Assassins.”

“The Creed?”

“Yes. I heard you know them quite well.”

“Well, um…”

“Well, anyways. What you would be doing is quite similar to them. Shoot to kill, show no mercy, you know that kind of…”

“I don’t like being compared to them.” A voice came from behind them. “I operate very differently.”

“Yes of course…” His expression stiffened as the figure walked towards them.

Hyomin could finally see the person properly. She wasn’t very tall at all. About 155, Sunny’s height. She wasn’t what Hyomin expected of an elite. Instead, she had a pretty face and a decent figure, if not a little small.

“Hyomin, meet Boram…” The man had lost all the strength in his voice.

“No time for formalities.” Boram said as she gestured to the exit. “Let’s go.”

“Right.” Hyomin said as she followed Boram out.

“Good luck…”The man mumbled just before Hyomin left the tent.

Hyomin turned around and smile reassuring at the man before she went back into the cold air. Boram was already halfway across the snow and Hyomin had to run to catch up with her. They walked in silence to the back of the tent, where a car was parked.

“Get in.” Boram said as she got into the driver seat.

Hyomin walked around and jumped in as Boram turned on the engine. The car sped off, leaving a trail of smoke behind.

“So…” Hyomin paused for a moment. “I heard you got the stone back for the president.”

“Yea and killed your useless friend.”

“Yunho…? Oh.” Hyomin looked around uncomfortably.

“Your sister is one of them?”

“What? Oh…right…but…”

“Don’t worry. I wont put a bullet in her head as long as she doesn’t get in my way.”

“Ok…so…where are we going?”

“Right…I probably should tell you. I’m sure you know the Reapers pretty well by now right?”

“Yea of course.”

“They have a facility in several parts of the world that they were going to use to process the stone when they get it. But since their leader died and they think that the stone is gone, they are using these facilities as a hideout.”

“Wait…aren’t I suppose to undergo some sort of train…”

“What better way is there than to experience it first hand.” Boram smirked. “This is your training.”

The rest of the trip was in silence. Hyomin stared at the continuous stretch of snow as her mind started drifting back to her love ones at home. It wasn’t until about an hour later that finally Boram pulled over.

“Rest is on foot.” Boram stepped out and opened to the back of the car. “You’ll be going into the facility yourself, I’ll give you sniper support.”

“What’s the plan?” Hyomin followed her.

“HK416. Ever used one of these?” Boram passed the rifle to Hyomin.

“How did you…”

“A lot of doors are open to you once you are an elite.” Boram smirked and passed a headgear to Hyomin. “Keep in touch.”

“You still haven’t told me what I’m suppose to do.”

“Right. This is the fun part. Go in, shoot as many as you can, plant explosives on the generators and get out of there.” Boram smiled. “I’ll pick them off if any of them escapes.”

“How am I suppose to do that without getting myself killed?” Hyomin raised her eyebrows.

“I’ll clear patrol from my position and get you in. After that it’s all yours. Boram said as she fixed her headgear and picked up a long briefcase.

“Not even some words of advice?”

“You’re an elite. You don’t need them. It’s quite a long walk. Lets go.”

They walked for a while, with only a long white stretch of snow in sight. Hyomin’s legs were hurting with each step she took. The low temperature only made it worst. She stole a couple of glances at Boram. The girl was a machine, her face calm and not showing any sign of tiredness.

“We’re here.”

Hyomin stopped, panting heavily as she looked up. There was a huge structure in front of them, four guard towers on each corner of it.

“You’re up.” Boram said with a smug look on her face. “Radio me when you reach each guard tower.”

“Right.” Hyomin said as she gripped her rifle.

She checked her gear before she headed towards the facility. The fog and snow gave her enough camouflage.

“I’m here.” Hyomin said as she waited under the first tower.

There was a flash of a gun some distance away and she heard a dull thud above her. She moved on to the next tower, repeating the whole procedure again. She soon found herself at the entrance of the facility.

“You are not thinking of just waltzing in the front door are you?” She heard the voice from over the radio.

“Well, there isn’t much of a choice is there?” Hyomin pointed out.

“You could climb.”

“You got to be kidding me.”

“Yes I am. Windows are fun but we’ll try that another day. Go right on in. The control room where the generators are is located at the back. You should have smoke grenades on your belt. Use them. Your goggles should allow you to detect them through the smoke.”

“Right. Going in.”

Hyomin put on her goggles and counted to three under her breath. She checked her gun a last time and kicked the door open.

The Reapers were caught by surprise, giving her enough time to fling the grenades around the room. The whole room was in utter chaos after that. Smoke filled the whole place making it hard for them to even move around. Shouting and gunshots filled the air as they started running around desperately.

Hyomin saw them clearly through the heat sensors on her goggles. She fired bursts after bursts as they fell. They tried to fire back but none of the shots came close. It didn’t take long before she reached the control room.

“I’m in.”

“Not bad. Plant the explosives and get out of there.”

Hyomin did as she was told. She placed the explosives on the generator and started activating it. There was a beep as the timer started counting off. Just then, she heard the cocking of a pistol.

“I don’t know who you are but…”

The reaper did not get to complete his sentence. Hyomin whipped around and knocked the gun off his hand as the shot went off. She kicked him across the neck as stumbled backwards. She did not wait for him to regain his balance. She whipped out her knife and lunged forward, straight for his neck.

Blood sprouted out of his neck as he fell backwards. His body hit the floor as he lay there motionless. Hyomin wiped the blood of her knife and placed it back into her belt. She held onto her rifle at the side as she made her way out.

The explosives went off as she walked out the front door. Most of the Reapers were still trapped inside. Those that came out didn’t run far before they fell with a clean shot to the head.

“Not bad.” A jeep drove up as Hyomin walked through the snow.

Hyomin peeked in. Boram was at the back seat with someone else behind the wheel. About six more jeeps drove up, men with helmets and body armor piled out and started clearing up the scene.

“What’s this?” Hyomin sat beside Boram.

“CIA. I delayed them a bit so that you could do your thing.”

“So…what now?”

“That was for me to look at your abilities. If you realized it was pretty much a walk in the park. Go in, shoot some people, plant explosives. Your main objectives would be much harder.”

“Uh huh.”

“We have a 1:00PM flight to Russia. Go get ready.”

10:00 PM KST Qri’s House

“Jiyeon, you haven’t eaten anything for the whole day. You sure you are not hungry?” Qri poked her head in to Jiyeon’s room.

“I’m fine.” Jiyeon said, lying down on the bed.

“Oh ok. If you need anything just call me.”

“Unnie, can I talk to you for a second?”

“Sure.” Qri said as she walked in. “What’s up?”

“Unnie, what’s an elite?”

“Oh that. Well, all I know about them are from the NIS rumors.” Qri paused for a while. “Put simply, they are spec ops soldiers that are trained to take down anyone they see fit.”

“Anyone?”

“In a sense. They work directly for the president. Unlike NIS agents, they don’t need to go through any authorization or procedure. They kill first, and talk later.”

“Who do they kill usually?”

“Well, I don’t know any elites so I can’t be sure. But I suppose they take down high value targets, like those that NIS fail to.”

“Like Assassins…” Jiyoen mumbled.

“Jiyeon…what are you…” Qri said as she caressed her hair.

“It’s just that. I have this weird feeling that…one day…Hyomin and I…”

“Hey…that won’t happen.”

“I hope so too…” Jiyeon tried to control the tears whelming up in her eyes. “What about Eunjung? Any news?”

“I was looking at what we have. Which isn’t much.” Qri sighed. “Everything at the scene was in perfect condition. It just doesn’t make sense.”

“Maybe she really did just leave…maybe…”

“Hey…she didn’t. Trust me.” Qri paused for a moment. “We’ll find her, no matter how long it takes.”

Oohhh....Hyomin and Boram on the same team, eh O.o

I was taken quite a bit back to see Hyomin's 'training' is on actual missions though. Boram being the complete opposite of what she is today (at least in the public's eye) is also an interesting feat, considering she's pretty much a top-notch operative here hahaha.

Also surprising to see that you also put real weapons into the play now - specifically, the HK-416. Damn, that gun is like special forces exclusive within the Western world (Korea and Japan are the only Asian countries to use it and it's only within their naval SF units O.o). I digress.

Wonder why they're headed to Russia of all places, as well as what will become of the Reapers now that they're pretty much leaderless.

Hope you update as soon as possible!

Chapter 2

11:00PM PDT Nevada: Facility Ruins

The black car drove down the dark road. It took a left turn and drove into the desert sand rather than straight to Vegas. It wasn’t long before the ruins came into sight.

“I still don’t get why you have to drag me out here.”

“Your highness, we have to consider the possibility that your father might be still alive.”

“Gee, what century are we in already! Stop calling me that. And under that huge explosion? I doubt it.”

“Would you prefer Miss then?”

“Whatever.”

“All right then. Miss, if we do not manage to find any sign of him here, then you, as the heir to the throne, will rightfully take over.”

“STOP IT! Gosh. You guys use advanced weapons but talk like you are in medieval times. Just admit that you guys are some terrorist group, don’t need to give me all the throne crap.”

“We’re here.”

The car halted in front of the ruins, where the facility once stood not long ago. Four men piled out of the car, the last holding the door open. A young lady stepped out carefully. She walked forward, to the pile of broken concrete where the control room once was.

“There’s nothing here.” She sighed. “What a waste of time.”

“No. Something happened.” One of the men walked towards the center.

“Well my father got killed. That’s what happened.”

The man pulled out a small device and placed it in the middle of the room. The other men crowded around and stared at it, expecting the device to start beeping. Nothing happened.

“What’s that?” She came up behind the men.

“Radiation detector.”

“Isn’t the point of the facility supposed to stop the stone from releasing radiation?” She looked at the device. “So, why are you guys expecting it to pick up something.”

“How it works. Is that there is a box that is used to store the stone. The stone would be destroyed inside the box, which contains suitable conditions greatly reducing the radiation released. However, there would still be a very small but detectable amount released in the box or in this case, where it once was.”

“So…if the device is not picking up anything…”

“The stone is not destroyed.”

“Oh wow. That’s…that’s…amazing…”

“Yes. We also came here and are unable to find any trace that your father is still alive. So, rightfully, you will be the one to lead us in obtaining the stone and following your father’s legacy.”

“You got to be kidding me…”

“Firstly, you have to complete the initiation process. We have to take the scythe that those dogs have stolen from your father. Once that is complete you would then be, the new rightful leader of the Reapers.”

8:00AM KST NiS Headquarters

It was a big and nicely decorated room. A great difference from the cubicle that she had not long ago. Sunny sat down on the big leather armchair and place her legs on the table. Her big box of items had been lying on the side of her table since a week ago when she first came in. She never felt like unpacking them, everything just seemed so unreal.

Few weeks ago, she was chasing Assassins all the way to Nevada and shooting up Reapers. Now, she had this huge office and Korea’s best intelligence agency under her. It was almost perfect. Except, she did not have her best friend to share her joy with.

She picked up the photo from the pile of items in the box. It was after they completed their first case together. She put it back into the box and picked up another. It was right after they got promoted and placed in charged of the Reaper case. Tears started whelming up in her eyes as memories flooded her.

“Can I come in?” There was a knock on the door.

Sunny wiped her tears and looked up. Qri was standing there, a stack of files in her hand. Sunny walked up and opened the door as Qri thanked her. She placed the files on the table and straightened up, looking Sunny in the eye.

“Hey, how are you?”

“I’m fine.” Sunny lied.

“We all miss Hyomin.”

“Uh huh.”

“Jiyeon and you. Both have it real hard.”

“How is she?”

“She’s holding up. She’s grown to be a pretty strong girl.”

“That’s good.” Sunny nodded. “By the way, the board called me.”

“What did they want?”

“A CIA agent is coming next week to see the scythe. The board wants to see me again at that time so I can’t be here. Could you like bring him around and stuff?”

“Sure.”

“Also. They are giving us a week to investigate Eunjung’s case. After that, we have to hand the case over to other departments. They want us to concentrate on the Reapers. I tried to negotiate but they are just that stubborn.”

“What!? How are we going to tell Jiyeon that?”

“I don’t know. But going against their orders would be treason.”

“Is there nothing we can do?”

“Well, if any lead pops up, or if we stumble upon any, I can request the case to be transferred back to us.”

“I’ll find a way to talk to her then.” Qri sighed.

“I’m sorry.” Sunny looked down. “What’s in the files?”

“Oh right.” Qri picked one up and pass it to Sunny. “The research on the ‘leader’ of Reapers that the various departments had collated. The one that the president claimed he had died. Apparently, he was disguised as a scientist so as to try and get close to the stone.”

“What happened after that?”

“Well, he failed and the stone got hidden. Although he was the leader, he still punished himself for it.”

“Punished himself?” Sunny raised her eyebrows.

“Ever wonder how he get the scar on his face?”

“Oh.” Sunny said as she flipped through. “Wow. He was married?”

“Yea. His wife died though.”

“Died? How?”

“No one knows. Her body was found on the streets one day. For all we know, it might be part of his punishing himself too.”

“What a sick man.”

“That’s not all. He has a daughter.”

“Let me guess, she’s dead too?”

“Well, not really. No one knows anything about her. We have a picture of when she was in school, no more than ten years old. After the stone appearance, she completely disappeared.” Qri said as she passed Sunny a photo.

“For all we know, she could be one of them.” Sunny sighed as she looked at the picture. “What a pity, she’s quite pretty too. What’s her name?”

“Jessica. Jessica Jung.”

3:00PM PDT San Fransisco: UCSF Medical Centre

“Now how can I help you?”

“Dr. Kim?”

“The only one in this hospital.” He said as he tapped his nametag. “My nurse said you called in urgently wanting to see me. You don’t look very sick to me. How can I help you?”

“You use to be a nuclear scientist? What’s with the sudden change in career?”

“How did you…Argh! I told those idiots not to publish news about that already. Anyways, I just felt that it was time for a career change and I had a pre-medical degree already, so why not study for awhile more and find a job here.”

“That simple?”

“Yes it is! And who are you anyway? If you are not here for any medical treatment, please leave.” He stood up.

“Do you know a couple? Mr. and Mrs Hwang?”

The man stopped in his tracks as he looked at her. He hadn’t heard that name for years and never wanted to. He sat back down, his hands reaching for the drawer under his table.

“No.”

“Don’t lie to me. You worked with them. I’ve checked it up already.”

“So what if I did? There were so many scientists around. I can’t remember all of them.”

“Oh. But you would especially remember this couple.”

“Why so?”

“Because you were great friends. Right until the time…you betrayed them.”

“I received orders to! I can’t go against them!” He said as he reached into the drawer, desperately searching around. “They just asked me to pass the message!”

“You can’t go against Reaper’s orders? You would betray your friend, your country just for them and your puny life?”

“Betray my country? Reaper?” He asked as he leaned forward, trying to reach deeper into the drawer. “What are you talking about? I was only given orders to pass the message to a man. I only realized he was a Reaper after that. My superiors in Korea gave me the order then. It would be treason if I go against it!”

Tiffany stared at him for silently. She scowled at him, a look of deep hatred in her eyes. She reached into her pocket and slowly pulled out, a pistol.

“Looking for this?”

“How did you…? You got to believe me! I was only following orders. I didn’t know it would cause their death!”

“They died a terrible death.” Tiffany said as she stood up and slowly placed the barrel on his head.

“You must work for NIS! Ask your superiors to check the records! A government official gave the order to me! I was only following orders, I had no idea it involved Reapers!”

“A pity that I don’t work for NIS.” She said as she cocked the pistol. “What is worst is that, you still lie as you face death.”

“I’m not…please…I have a family...a child.”

“They had a child too.” Tiffany stared at him straight in the eyes. “You don’t remember? When I first met you. The week before they died.”

“Oh my god…It can’t be…” His eyes widened. “Tiffany…please…you have to believe me…your father would ha…”

The shot rang throughout the room. The man’s head was partially blown off as his body slumped forward. Tiffany placed the pistol back on the table.

“Dr. Kim. What was that…” The nurse opened the door slightly and peeped in.

Her eyes opened wide in shock as she saw the body, a pile of blood forming around it. She placed her hand to her mouth and screamed.

Tiffany calmly walked towards the window. She unlocked and opened it as she climbed her way out. As she ran among the bushes away from the hospital, she could hear the clear sirens ringing in the air.

She smiled to herself as she slowed to a walk some distance away from the hospital. It sure felt good. She had waited a long time for this. Now that the stone and Reapers were gone. She could finally, start her path for vengeance.

4:00PM KST The next week: NiS Headquarters

“Hello.” Qri walked up to the lady at the entrance. “Are you the CIA agent?”

“Are you doubting me? I have all the papers right here.”

“No…no…just asking.” Qri shifted her weight uncomfortably. “Let’s go then.”

They walked around, Qri explaining every part of the headquarters to her. It didn’t take long before they found themselves at the entrance of the lab.

“Could I use the washroom before we see the scythe?”

“Sure.” Qri said as she pointed down the corridor. “It’s that way. I could bring…”

“No no its ok. I see where it is. I’ll join you in the lab later” The agent said as she headed off.

Qri shrugged as she entered the lab. She took out the scythe from a glass cabinet and placed it on an examination table. She ran her hand through the handle as her phone started to ring.

“Hello?”

“Hey Qri, Sunny here. CIA called us and said the agent hasn’t called in like she was supposed to when she arrived. So I suppose that there are some change of plans and the agent won’t be going to NIS today.”

“Sunny…what are you talking about…she’s here.”

“Qri…who’s there? The agent shouldn’t know where NIS was located until her agency gave her instructions. In this case they are unable to reach her. Qri, no one is supposed to be there.”

“Sunny…she had papers to prove it…”

“And the CIA agent is missing…”

“Sunny…I don’t know…”

“Wait Qri, relax. Tell me where she is.”

“She went to the washroom a minute ago…I don’t know…”

All of a sudden, the alarms started ringing loudly. There were screaming and shouting as distant gunshots could be heard some distance away.

“Qri…what is happening…”

“I don’t know…the alarms went off…its flashing red…”

“What!? How can we be under attack...why would anyone try directly attacking our HQ?”

“I don’t know Sunny…”

“Drop it.” Qri felt the cold barrel of a gun on the back of her head.

She did as she was told and dropped the phone. She saw a hand reached out and tightened around the scythe. Qri looked on as the scythe was lifted away from the table, unable to do anything with the pistol pressed against her head.

“Who exactly are you.” Qri asked softly as she felt pistol slowly being removed from her head.

“I want you to see this when it happens. Turn around.”

Qri slowly turned as she came face to face with the agent just now. It was then she noticed, there was something familiar about her eyes. It was as if, she had seen them somewhere before.

“My father told me NIS had been meddling a lot.”

“Your father?” Qri’s eyes widened. “Who in the world…”

“I am…the new leader of Reapers.” She smirked. “And you are about to have the honor of dying in my hands.”

“Oh my god…”

“Name is Jessica.” She smiled as she cocked the pistol. “Jessica Jung.”

Whoa, whoa whoa! Now my favorite Sica's in the story too?! As the enemy?! Holy buzzballs O.o

I was initially surprised by her spoilt princess-like attitude but seems that she's quite a force to be reckoned with haha.

At least for me, seems like Tiffany's slowly turning over to the darker character along the way.

Damn this just keeps getting better and better along the way hahaha.

Could this possibly be Qri's final appearance?!?!?! Man, this is some intense stuff here already.

Update as soon as possible, man!

Kyaaa, Jessica Jung is in and back with vengeance ^_^

She's the new villain, but I hopeTiffany is not one,

Boram as Hyomin's trainer is cool, small but terrible

and where's Eunjung now? hmmm..

I can't wait how things will turn complicated as the story drag on.

Chapter 3

5:00PM KST NiS Headquarters

“Drop it.” Jessica felt the cold barrel of the gun at the side of her head.

“Well. Well. Isn’t it an Assassin.” Her lips curled into a smile.

“I won’t repeat myself.”

“I wonder who will pull the trigger quicker. Would you like to try? Risk your friend’s life over there?”

Jiyeon glanced at Qri. She was standing there, her face with a look of surprise. Thankfully she was already nearby when Sunny called her. One moment too late and Qri wouldn’t have stood a chance.

“What do you want.” Jiyeon hissed at Jessica.

“Well, at first maybe a little display with your pretty friend over there. But come to think of it, I want you both to see it when it happens, when the world bows to me.”

“No one is going to bow to you when you are locked…”

“Your highness, we have to go.”

Jiyeon looked up. Five men with rifles were at the entrance, laser sights trained on Qri and herself. She could make out the scythe tattoo that she never ever wanted to see again. She would be able to fire before they did but Qri’s life would be at stake.

That distraction was all Jessica need. She swung at Jiyeon’s gun as it skidded across the room. The reapers’ fingers went over their trigger, as they got ready to fire. Jiyeon did not hesitate. She recovered from the blow as she jumped forward, pushing Qri out of the line of fire. The sound of bullets filled the air as they jumped behind a table.

“We’ll see each other again. Assassin.” Jiyeon heard the girl’s voice and the shutting of the door before there was complete silence.

“Jiyeon…thank you…” Qri mumbled.

“Don’t…don’t mentioned…it…” Jiyeon struggled to say.

“Jiyeon why are you talking like…”

Qri’s jaws dropped as she spotted the red patch of blood on Jiyeon’s cloak. Jiyeon wobbled on the spot before she collapsed right into Qri’s arm. Qri shook the girl’s lifeless body as she started screaming for help. It wasn’t long before NIS agents rushed in and an ambulance was called but she could only pray that it wasn’t too late.

8:00PM KST Asan Medical Center

“Qri, what happened?” Sunny rushed to the emergency room.

Qri had her hands on her head and was shaking. An NIS agent was trying to take down her statement but she just couldn’t think straight. Sunny gestured to the agent to leave them as she bend down and put her arms over Qri.

“I’m so sorry…I should’ve checked with you before bringing the agent around…no…I should have recognized her…” Tears were pouring down Qri’s eyes.

“Shh…its okay…”

“What happened to the Reapers?” Qri looked at Sunny, her eyes still bloodshot.

“We managed to suppressed them. A few escaped. Those who didn’t, killed themselves before we could capture them.”

“The scythe?”

“Gone.”

“Right…” Qri bit her lips. “Thank you”

“For?”

“If you didn’t call Jiyeon. I wouldn’t have made it. She had a gun to my head. But, I’m not worth it. If something happens to Jiyeon…I would never…”

“Don’t talk like that. Jiyeon is a strong girl.” Sunny paused for awhile.”Qri…who is she?”

“Jessica Jung.”

“Oh…the girl…”

“In the photo yea…”

There was a moment of silence as Qri placed her head on her hands again. At that moment, the lights of the emergency room went off and a doctor in a white coat came out.

“Family?” He asked them.

“Somewhat.” Sunny stood up. “How is she?”

“We got her out of any danger and removed the bullet…she’s lucky the shot did not hit any vital organs. But, it is not advisable for you to see her now. She has to rest.”

“Thank you.” Sunny bowed as the doctor walked off.

“See I told you she would be fine.” She turned round to Qri.

“Thank god…” Qri mumbled. “Well…I’ll be heading back then…have to get the scythe back.”

Sunny looked as Qri stood up and walked away. She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes. The girl she saw in the photo. She was a Reaper now. She had thought they would be less of a threat after all that happened but they even dared to attack NIS head on. Something just wasn’t right…

10:00PM MSK Russia: Yekaterinburg City

The car drove down the road, passing buildings after buildings. The streets were filled with poverty and starvation. Gunshots and screaming could be heard occasionally.

“I got a call from Korea last night.” Boram broke the silence.

“What about?” Hyomin raised her eyebrow.

“NIS.”

“And?”

“They got attacked.”

“What? Reapers? I thought…”

“They took the scythe.”

“Why would they…”

“They got a new leader.” Boram said as she drove. “Taking the scythe confirms it.”

“How would you know…”

“My father…was an undercover agent.” Boram’s voice cracked and she cleared her throat.

“Are you okay?” Hyomin looked at her with concern.

“Yes. It’s nothing.” Her voice returned to its cold, uncaring tone.

“You sure? You could always…”

“Hey!.” Boram slammed on the breaks and turned to her. “I said its nothing.”

“All right…”

“We’re here anyway.” Boram said as she opened the door and walked out.

“Wha…”

Hyomin looked up. They stopped in front of a dark building. Hyomin stepped up. The first thing she saw was the red liquid on the walls of the building. She did not know where it came from, but it sure didn’t look pleasant.

Boram walked forward and entered the building through the front door. Hyomin looked around for while before following behind. This place felt evil and she didn’t like it one bit.

“State your business.” The harsh voice came from behind a door they stopped at.

“I’ll help you get rid of the Assassin.” Boram said through the door.

There was murmuring and a lot of movement on the other side. Finally, a loud screeching of metal and the clicking of locks before the door creaked open slowly.

There were two men wearing masks on the other side. Their pistols were out and pointing straight at their chest. Boram raised her hands, and walked in, Hyomin following closely behind.

“Try anything funny and we’ll shoot.” Said one of the man.

They walked down an old crumbling corridor. The walls were partially corroded and rats and cockroaches were running all over the floor. Hyomin held her breath against the stench as they walked forward. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally reached a small office.

“What do you want?” A man sat in a huge broken armchair, his back facing them.

“I heard…you use to be a Reaper?”

“Yea. You got a problem with that?”

“And now you turned into some low-life handicapped thug?”

“What do you know.” The chair turned around.

Hyomin stared wide-eyed at the guy. He had a disheveled look, his face looked broken and he had an eye-patch on one of his eye.

“What happened?” Boram asked.

“What happened!? WHAT HAPPENED!?” He exclaimed. “It was all going fine. I was the leader’s most trusted man. Right until my backstabbing partner put a bullet in my face and in my spine.”

There was a pause as the man tried to catch his breath. He looked up at them again and continued.

“We all thought he was legit. I mean…he used to work for NIS or something. But he came to us and told us that he was providing supplies to those scientists to built the compound. We checked up on it and it seemed valid. Boss let him in but wanted me to keep an eye on him.”

“Carry on.”

“Well, it all seemed to be going smoothly. He told me that he had this contact that knew exactly where the scientist were. Some guy by the name of Dr. Kim or something. So, we did all that and we found the place. Boy, was the boss happy with us.”

“What went wrong then?”

“That backstabbing *******!” He roared in anger. “It was the day we were suppose to go after the scientists. I caught him on the phone, he was telling someone about our plan. I was about to put a bullet in his head when he saw me. Let’s just say he was faster. He fired twice, one into my head and one into my spine.

“You seem quite willing to tell us all of that.”

“Why not?” The man shrugged. “I’m going to put a bullet in both of your pretty heads soon anyways. Unless, you would agree to a little…proposition.”

“What?” Boram asked, still calm.

“Even when I recovered, the boss said I was useless and would not take me back in. But…if I manage to get the Assassin’s head, he would finally see my use.”

“You want us to kill the Assassin?”

“Yes. Or would you rather choose death?”

“Tell us more about your assault on the scientists then.”

“Well, I guess it was a blessing in disguise. I was sent to the hospital after getting shot. Wasn’t able to go. I heard my comrades all got murdered by an Assassin though.”

“The scientist?”

“From what I heard from the news, they died. Their daughter went missing for awhile. Few days later, she reappeared at some orphanage. Boss sent men after her. You know, to clean up any loose ends.”

“and?”

“She had a gun. Can you imagine that? A kid with a gun. But that was fine. She took down one maybe two but that was when the Assassin appeared again.”

“What happened to her after that?”

“I don’t know. That was about the time I got cut off from Reapers cause of what that stinking traitor did to me. So, are you going to go get the Assassin or do I have to put a bullet in your head?”

“We were planning to do that anyway.”

“Good! In that case, why did you come here for?”

“You know how you said that guy that shot you was fast?”

“Yes…That Idio…?”

“Well, his daughter has quick hands too.”

The man did not stand a chance. Boram moved as fast as lightning. She whipped out her gun and fired, right between the man’s eye. Hyomin caught on fast enough. She took out her own gun and fired at the guard that brought them in, Boram taking down the other.

“It’s done.” Boram walked towards the door. “Let’s go.”

They walked back down the corridor. A few more men came rushing down but they never stood a chance. Boram was quick. Real quick. They did not have time to even shout before they found a bullet between their eyes.

“Hey…” Hyomin started as they entered the car.

“The Assassin killed again.” Boram said as she turned on the engine.

“Oh.”

“You heard the guy talk about my father’s contact known as Dr.Kim? Yea. He’s dead now.”

“How…”

“The Assassin is hunting down targets that are related to her parent’s death. She’s not stupid. She knows they’ll be on their guard so she’ll lie low for a while before trying again. I’ll have time to train you then till she run out of names in America and makes her move to come back to Korea.”

The rest of the trip was in silence. Hyomin looked out of the window. There wasn’t much of scenery but her mind was somewhere else. She thought back to a few weeks ago when all these started, the president’s voice still echoing in her head.

Few weeks ago : Somewhere in Gyeongju

The president smiled at Hyomin as Sunny left the room. Hyomin raised her eyebrows, confused. What did the president wanted to see her alone about…

“What do you think happened over there?”

“Wha…”

“In the control room. What do you think happened to Yunho?”

“I don’t know…”

The president smiled at Hyomin again. He reached into his pocket and pulled out something in his hand. Hyomin’s looked in shock as the stone glimmered in front of her.

“Mr. President….”

“Don’t you think…it would be stupid to let go of such a good opportunity? I’m doing this for the country’s own good.” The president placed the stone back into his pocket.

“No…you can’t do this…the stone is the cause of all this trouble!”

“Well I already did. And it’s a pity Yunho had to die.”

“What!”

“Yes…my very first elite killed him.” The president beamed in pride.

“Elite?...They’re real?”

“Oh not only are they real…You are going to become one.”

“After what you did....”

“What I did. Was to carve a better future for our country.”

“What if I decline your offer.”

“Well, lets talk about what if you accept my offer.” The president paused for awhile. “I’ll release information to the press about Jangwoo being a Reaper and I’ll clear Jiyeon of all charges. She has to work as an Assassin for me though.”

“That’s unacceptable. You want to make use of me to become your killing machine and then you want to use Jiyeon as your Assassin?”

“Think of it this way. I’m giving her a job as well as freedom. Otherwise, she will be locked up for life.”

“Well…” Hyomin closed her eyes in deep thought. “That’s all to it?”

“You will be trained for about half a year to a year. After that, you and the other elite will be tasked on taking down a very dangerous target.”

“Who…”

The president smirked as he reached into his pocket. He took out a photo and flung it on the table. Hyomin picked it up and stared in shock.

“I can’t do this…you want me to kill Tiffany?”

“I cannot risk her knowing about Yunho’s death. I’m merely eliminating the threat.”

“No. I will not do this. Even if Jiyeon gets her freedom back, she’ll never forgive me.”

“Okay. I knew it wouldn’t be so easy persuading you. Let’s talk about what if you decline my offer.”

The president walked to his desk and opened the drawer. He picked up the newspaper in it and passed it to Hyomin. Her jaws dropped in shock as she stared at the headlines. ‘Actress missing.’ On the side of it, Eunjung’s photo.

“It’s reported, that she ran away because her sister killed her fiancé and she could not face the truth.” The president took a sip from his cup. “The next headlines could be, ‘Actress’s body found dead’ or ‘Family reunited.’ It’s all up to you.”

“What did you do…” Hyomin glared at him.

He put down his cup and walked towards the TV screen at the side of the room. He picked up the remote control and pressed a button. The screen flashed and a feed from a camera appeared. Hyomin’s eyes widened shock as the feed zoomed in. Tied up to a chair, a cut on the side of her face was Eunjung.

Ah, so that's what happened to Eunjung!

But man, it's hard to see who's worse than the other, now that EJ's held captive and Hyomin pretty much has a gun pointed at her back O.o

I was a bit surprised you chose Yekaterinburg City as an area of poverty and bleakness though, since it's one of Russia's more important cities lol. Wonder what the Reaps under Sica will do next, considering they still managed to hit and run NIS HQ even after what occurred in the first story O.o

omg! the president is evil!

Will they, everyone including boram, eventually face the president instead when they know what he is doing? :o

Hyomin is always facing a dilemma ):

Chapter 4

One Year Later…

10:00PM San Francisco

“It’s good doing business with you.” The police officer touched the tip of his hat.

“Yes…” The short man nodded.

“My officers will be stationed outside the whole night. You don’t have to worry.”

“Well, with all due respect, I don’t think your officers are enough…”

“It’ll be fine.” The officer snorted. “Anyways, you have to turn in all your stuff tomorrow. We have to make sure your not backstabbing us.”

“You don’t really have to…I mean…I wouldn’t dream of…”

“We’ll see…”

The officer walked out of the room, the door slamming shut behind him. The short man stood there, shaking slightly. He took out his handkerchief and wiped the sweat off his forehead. It was either this or death. He had no choice. He walked to his armchair and slumped into it.

“Tsk. Tsk.” The man jumped at the sound coming from the dark corner of the room. “You are playing a dangerous game here.”

The man’s eyes widened in shock as the slim figure in a black outfit appeared into the light. His hands reached for the gun, holstered at his back pocket.

“Don’t try it.” The figure said as she walked closer to him. “You never learn.”

The figure walked towards the window. She peeked outside and sighed as she looked at the two officers standing at the entrance. The man weighed his chances. She was distracted. It was probably the best chance he’ll ever get. He took out the gun and raised it.

“I TOLD YOU NOT TO TRY IT.”

There was a soft ‘swish’ of a blade and the loud scream of the man. He stared at where his hand once was. A fountain of blood was pouring out of the limb.

“Do you know…” The figure stood in front of him. “When there are so many places I could forge a passport. Why I chose to come to you?”

“Why….” The man whimpered.

“Ten years ago. You were asked to forge a passport. For a boy. Using the name Yunho in the passport.”

“How did you…”

“Normally. Scums with this type of job. Have the courtesy to keep their customers details private. But not you. You are worst than that.”

“You would…have done it too. If you had a gun…pointed to your head.” He struggled to say as he started to feel numb from the bleeding.

“I hear that. Every time I kill. It doesn’t work anymore.” She smirked as she reached out for under the desk and picked up a passport. “I knew you would make a backup plan for yourself.”

“Take it and go…the mask is in the drawer too. You would look just like the person in the passport with that mask. Customs wont suspect a thing…please just go…I wont tell anyone.”

“After all these years, I learnt a very valuable lesson. That as long as you are human, you cannot be trusted.”

The two officers sat down at the side of the pavement and sighed. They could be home with their families but instead, they are trapped hear guarding some criminal. Since when were police supposed to guard criminals anyway.

The first officer turned his head and was about to speak when suddenly, the loud bang of a gunshot filled the air.

The officers looked at each other, their eyes opened wide in surprised. The first officer beckoned for his partner to call for backup as his hand reached for his holstered gun. He rushed forward, kicking doors open as he went. He took a deep breath before he reached out and open the door to the man’s room.

“What the f…” He said as he saw the body with its head blown off slumped over the table.

He walked forward when all of a sudden, he heard a soft ‘crunch’ and something soft under his feet. He lifted his feet and grimaced in disgust at the hand lying on the floor. He stepped back immediately and ran out of the room. Any longer in there, and he would have thrown up.

Tiffany looked at the open widowed that she had climbed out from. Her time in this place had come to an end. She took out a piece of paper and struck the name off the list. She placed it back in and took out the fake passport. It has been more than a year. It was time, she headed back.

3:00AM Warehouse in Busan

“Report.”

“Bravo squad. Ready.”

“Charlie. Ready.”

“Delta. Same here.”

“Wait for the signal.”

All of a sudden, the power went off. The lights died and there was complete silence. Sunny clutched her gun as she held her breath.

“Power and alarms down. All yours Sunny.” Jiyeon’s voice came from over the radio.

“Roger. You heard her. Remember, these are Reapers. Shoot to kill if you have to but try to get as many back from questioning.” She paused for a while and counted to three. “Go go go!”

She kicked the door in as her squad flooded into the place, throwing flash bangs as they went. She heard the other squads entering the compound as shots rang out throughout the place.

The element of surprise gave them a huge advantage. There were dead bodies all over the place, mostly Reapers. The agents had to kill most of the Reapers or risk getting killed themselves. Only a few were knocked out amidst the chaos, the others, either suicide or shot to death.

“Sunny, three Reapers managed to find their way out. They just got into a car. I’ll go after them.” Jiyeon said over the radio.

“I’ll assist you.” Sunny said as she turned around and ran out.

The car’s engine roared to life as it drove through the blockade. The agents outside fired shots at it, trying to stop the car. Jiyeon jumped on the crates outside as she chased after the car. She had a hand on her gun, all she needed was the right time.

All of a sudden, a loud shot rang out over all the gunfire. The car swerved and crashed into a crate. The agents walked towards the car, their guns out and Sunny leading them. Jiyeon jumped down from the crate she was on and looked around. Someone else fired that shot. It wasn’t them.

The door of the car swung open as a man hobbled out. The agents raised their guns as he fell to the floor on his knees. He had a smirk on his face as he took out a gun and placed it to his head.

He grunted in pain as a force rammed into his hand and the gun skidded across the floor. He felt his hand being twisted to his back as he was lifted up to his feet. He opened his mouth wide. This was the last resort. He was ready to bite his tongue to silence himself. He did not make it. He felt his head slam into the side of the car, as he slipped into unconsciousness.

“Identify yourself!” Sunny shouted as she snapped back to reality.

She was rooted to the ground as the whole incident happened. The figure stood there as the Reaper slumped to the floor, knocked out cold. She cocked her gun as the figure started approaching her squad. She was trembling. That speed and strength it reminded her of one of an Assassin. Of Tiffany.

“That’s not Tiffany.” Jiyeon said as though reading her mind as she came up beside Sunny. “The Reaper would be dead if it was.”

“Don’t come any closer or we’ll open fire!”

The figure’s stopped, not far from them. She raised her hand, the silver symbol on her glove glistening in the moonlight. There, was a skull. The sign of an elite.

Sunny’s eye’s widened in shock as her gun fell from her hands. She walked forward, Jiyeon following close behind her. Her walked quickened to a slow jog and a run as she rushed forward. All of a sudden, the headlights of a car appeared as it drove up in front of them. Sunny stopped in her tracks as she squinted through the glaring light. The figure, jumped in, as the car reversed and drove off into the dark night.

Sunny felt someone pull her back as she opened her mouth. She wanted to run after the car but her arms were locked to her back.

“Not here. No one can know.” Jiyeon whispered into her ears.

Sunny sighed and nodded. She turned back as Jiyeon released her. She walked back to her squad as confused faces looked at her.

“I’m sorry. I saw the car from a distance away but did not manage to arrest the person in time.” Sunny took a deep breath. “The operation is still not over. Bring every captured Reaper back. Call Qri and her team here to sweep the scene.”

9:00AM Qri’s house

“There isn’t much point coming back is there?” Qri asked as she fumbled with the locks in the house. “Since we are going back to NIS HQ soon.”

“We have something...to talk to you about.” Sunny said quietly.

“I expected as much.” Qri said as they walked into the house. “You guys have been acting weird and I heard from the other agents that something weird happened.”

“You should lock the windows when you go out.” A voice came from the darkness. “You can never be too careful.”

“What in the…” Qri exclaimed and flicked on the light as Sunny and Jiyeon reached for their guns.

“Too slow.” Hyomin stood up from the chair. “It would be a dead forensic pathologist, NIS president and Assassin if I were someone else.”

“Hyomin!” Jiyeon and Sunny exclaimed as they ran forward and pulled her in for a hug.

“Am I missing out on something here?” Qri raised her eyebrows. “You guys look like you knew she was back here.”

“Yea they saw me earlier.” Hyomin said as she walked forward and exchange hugs with Qri.

“What do you…”

“That was what we wanted to tell you about.” Jiyeon said. “You heard from the other agents about the mysterious person and Sunny suddenly going crazy?”

“Oh! So you were…” Qri’s eyes widened in realization

“Yea I was.”

“Who was the other person in the car?” Jiyeon asked.

“I can’t say. Just like how you guys are not suppose to tell anyone else that i’m an elite.”

“Oh right...Sorry.” Sunny mumbled.

“It’s okay.”

“How long are you staying?” Qri asked.

“I don’t know.”

“Do you want to stay here? I have extra rooms…”

“No its fine. I got a place.” Hyomin smiled.

“Why are you back.” Jiyeon’s tone suddenly changed.

“Jiyeon, what’s with you…” Sunny started.

“Tiffany’s here. Isn’t she.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“I’ve seen it in the news. The Assassin killing the guy who makes fakes passport in San Francisco.”

“Jiyeon that’s enough.” Sunny placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Isn’t that what elites are for?” A tear streamed down Jiyeon’s face. “Killing Assasins?”

“Jiyeon. They might be here to help us with the Reaper problem. It is getting worst…” Qri started.

“You expect me to believe that?” Jiyeon stared at Hyomin. “The truth please…unnie…”

“I got to go.” Hyomin said as she walked out.

“Hyomin! Hyomin!” Qri said as she ran out after her.

A car drove up the front lawn. Hyomin opened the door and jumped in. A tear streamed down her face as she saw them looking at her as she went. She just couldn’t lie to her sister anymore.

“Told you so.” Boram said as she drove down the road. “You shouldn’t have gone.”

“She won’t come in our way.”

“You dare guarantee that? What if she does? Will you kill her with your own hands?”

“She won’t.”

“One year. I’ve been with you that long. And you still haven’t learn a thing.”

“The only thing I did not learn was how to lose my conscience.”

“And that’s going to get us killed.”

The rest of the trip was in silence. Hyomin looked out of the window. One year had pass so quickly. She was finally back. Only this time, she wished she wasn’t.

11:30PM Seoul Incheon Airport

“NIS agents managed to capture Reapers alive yesterday.” The news flashed on TV. “This has been one of the more successful raid, with the most number of Reapers captured thus far.”
