Lol, Jiyeon is a hit even amongst Japanese fans.
While I'm no native speaker, I think Soyeon sounds the most comfortable with her Japanese. I don't think all the girls are that fluent just yet. I still see the interpreter sitting behind... someone, trying to hide in plain view. The game was pretty hilarious though, especially Boram and Jiyeon. They were panicking soooo much, they forgot about being cute~! Hwayoung was really funny as well.

Jiyeon as a Disco Diva and Eunjung as a student?!
For some reason, it feels like it should have been the other way around. After watching the latest WGM, I can say that Eunjung is the legit Disco Diva. Lol! Thanks for sharing~!
-
Both maknaes got some decent... bumpers to them, don't they? I mean, for an Asian woman.
All the girls are looking mighty gorgeous in their Japanese activities.
-
Uh, Jiyeon and Qri are wearing... really short shorts, aren't they?
I can only imagine how September is going to be for these girls. It looks like they're going to be constantly flying between Korea and Japan for a while. Not that I really want them staying there all these time, but traveling back and forth must be pretty exhausting for them.
-
Wow, didn't expect her to be wearing a full-leg cast. O_O To think that she was still wearing this only a couple of days ago... I really hope that she takes it easy for the next few weeks. It takes a while to heal these kinds of injuries.
On a side note, it's nice to see the T-ara unnies taking care of their maknae, though (especially Eunjung). And I can't wait to watch this Chuseok special. I think I spy Suzy looking at them from the back with her kitty ears. I love these MuCore besties.
-
Glad to see Jiyeon looking better now, but I still think she has to take it easy on her knee. Injuries like that take more than a few weeks to heal, not a few days. She might injure it again if she strains it unnecessarily.
P.S. I just had to laugh at the box of choco (strawberry?) pie she was holding. Such a gorgeous shikshin~
-
I couldn't really care less about the song itself because IMO, originals are always better than their Japanese versions, so the amount of autotune doesn't really bother me.
Lol, as for the PV itself, I totally love it. Every single one of them looked absolutely gorgeous, no joke. They really looked like they were having fun! Lol, especially Jiyeon and her randomness: hitting her herself with the hat, tearing the notebook apart, blowing the falling paper, etc. Not to mention, EunJi playing/fighting/flirting with each other.
This PV is sooo full of win~!!!
-
4-5 Chuseok specials?!? Damn... Anyway, I hope she really gets a lot of rest because ligament injuries are no joke. My brother strained his a few years ago and he had to hobble around unsteadily with a knee brace for 8 weeks. And the pain during the first week or so was seriously tears-inducing.
-
So not only is her knee bandaged, she's wearing ankle supports, as well? Just what kind of fall did she take in yesterday's practice? I hope they give her more time to rest and let the injury heal, especially since their Japanese debut is just around the corner.
-
I really want to see Jiyeon in this special, but should she really be participating in strenuous activities when she has injury like that?
I mean, she was mostly dragging her injured leg in yesterday's performance. Wouldn't it be better for her to rest the injury rather than risk injuring herself further? She really needs to take better care of herself, otherwise fans (like me!) would get overly worried.
P.S. I also see Jiyeon wearing ankle support wrap on both feet. Don't tell me her ankles are also weak... Jiyeon and Eunjung looked so damn tired in that first pic. >.<

I thought their goodbye stage would never come. I still enjoy watching them perform Roly Poly each week.
All the best of luck in their Japanese debut. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope they find great success there. After all, Japan loves cat girls~! Hahaha!
-
I personally like the first cover best because it looks so random.
And Jiyeon is just sitting there, chillin' like villain.
Sexy cat ears are the best~!
-
Lol! How is it possible that they're all rocking the nerdy look? I absolutely loved that second picture group shot where they are all peering over.
Everyone looks fabulous with glasses on, especially Jiyeon~
-
Objectively speaking, I would say yes, they most probably are.
Going by looks alone, they have two ulzzangs, two previous actresses, and an ex-SM trainee (and SM is known for also putting priority in looks) who are all considered pretty by usual standards. Even the 'plain-looking' members such as Boram and Hwayoung have faces that are above average by themselves. But Boram is mostly noticed for her petite stature and child-like looks. Hwayoung, on the other hand, always gets overshadowed because people keep on comparing her with T-ara's original maknae, Jiyeon. It doesn't really help that Jiyeon has striking features which almost always prompts a second look. Put the two of them (Boram and Hwayoung) with average-looking idols and their beauties will stand out.
SNSD, imho, is a different case. Since the members' looks are more varied, people are most likely to find their ideal types within the group. If you go for innocent beauties, you have Yoona, Seohyun and Taeyeon. If you want sexy then you have Yuri and Jessica. If want someone with striking features, then there's Tiffany. If you're into plain janes, then there's Sunny. If you're searching for a more exotic look, then there's Sooyoung and Hyoyeon. That said, not everyone can be considered pretty. A few of them are just average.
As for your second question... Hmn, I don't really think KKS created T-ara with the thought of making them a strong vocal group, anyway (he already has Davichi for that). The way I see it, he's trying to get their names out there as much possible first by debuting them as an idol group, and then have them disperse into their preferred fields much later (acting, variety, singing, etc.).
But that's just my opinion, though.

A what now?!?! Really, I was just kidding when I said before that they might as well release a new version every week... but it looks like CCM is seriously doing it.
Huh. Are they going to promote Roly Poly until the release of Round & Round? It certainly seems like it. =/
-
I don't think he actually resembles Jiyeon, except maybe for his eyes. They have the same shape of eyes, I think, but other than that, I don't think so. Unless they show us another picture with a different angle, maybe I'll consider it.
-
Lol! I knew this was going to happen as soon as they slapped the movie with the 19+ restriction. Poor girls. They basically walked the red carpet only to head straight back to the car. Hmn, I don't think it'll stop them from seeing the movie, though. *wink wink* Hahaha!
-
Erm, should they really be serving food while they're all bloody like that? Lol! I mean, I would at least worry that it might dampen the patron's appetite.
-
Lol! It was a completely normal reaction, since the disco era had saw the worst fashion statements ever. But really, if they could make the BPBP concept work no matter how ridiculous it was, LOL, then there shouldn't be a doubt that they could make the retro concept work as well. They should have more confidence in their selves.
They should know that they're all certainly gorgeous enough to make anything work.
-
At this rate, we might as well get 7 versions of the song, with one member featuring in each~! Lol!
Love the old school picture, by the way! Jiyeon looks the most mature and sophisticated, wearing her long hair down, as opposed to everyone wearing their hair in pigtails and such (thus looking younger). Isn't Jiyeon supposed to be the maknae? Haha!

My vote goes to IGCBOY. The three-way dark and sexy concept battle between T-ARA, KARA and SNSD back in early 2010 was pretty epic, but biases aside, I thought it was T-ARA who was able to pull it off really well. At least half of the members of SNSD and KARA weren't able to completely shake off their cute image, whereas every member of T-ara were sexy as hell (yes, even cutie pies Jiyeon and Boram looked sexy).
After that, my choice would be TTL. The concept of a great ballad with a kickass rap turned out really well.
I'm still waiting for the day that we get to see another song/concept that would showcase the members like these two songs have.
-
I like this topic~! Hmn, for me, I guess:
Lies - All
TTL - Soyeon, because of her vocals
TTL2 - Eunjung is a total badass
Apple is A+ - It's all about Jiyeon
BPBP - I think they all had their moments here, but special mentions to Hyomin because of her improv dances, and Jiyeon because of her solo dance
Like the First Time - The whole song and choreography is sensual enough as it is, but Hyomin and Eunjung takes it to another level
IGCBOY - Eunjung, Jiyeon and Hyomin totally worked the bad girl concept
I'm Really Hurt - Jiyeon, just because I love seeing her in a pimp suit with a top hat (especially the red one), and partly because of that opening choreo where she sweeps her hands along Soyeon and Boram's legs. Lol!
YaYaYa - I thought Jiyeon looked really striking with that long, jet-black hair of hers
Roly Poly - Everyone had their own distinct character for this. They all stand out to me.
-
Wow! This announcement came out of nowhere! Looks like CCM is really trying to make Roly-Poly work. I don't blame him, though, since this is probably the only T-ara Korean comeback we'll get for the whole year. They're going to be busy with their Japanese promotions. >.<
Anyway, I don't really want to get my hopes up for this. It may just be another version of the 2nd MV with more fanvids included. "I'm really Hurt" basically had 3 similar MVs, right? I mean, it would really be great if they continued the storyline from 1st MV, or heck, include T-ara's dance practices and mix it with the fanvids instead, but... yeah, I'll just wait for it to come out. Lol!

Geez... I hope this doesn't become a trend for these poor girls. I understand how the company wants to promote them as much as possible, but these girls are humans as well. Human can only tolerate so much stress and exhaustion. I hope they all get proper rest.
[11.09.14] T-ara, the first idol group to sign a contract with "Hi-Mart"

No idea what Hi-Mart's products are, but I'm really happy that T-ara is getting more and more CF deals. It means the companies are at least confident that the general public will recognize them.
It's a testament to their growing popularity.
