Considering that apparently the Forbes Korea list showing them as the #2 money-making girl group of 2013 was actually true (Oniontaker seems to think it's legitimate), I'd say their re-debut and all of 2013 was a great success in terms of money, which I think is pretty important in most businesses.

There was audible cheering from male and female fans, and no boos could be heard from the videos I've seen. The male groups received much louder cheers, obviously. Even when Crayon Pop performed, the cheers died down a lot compared to U-Kiss or other male groups, but we all know that's how it works in Kpop lol.

There are already fancams up now, and a thread was made not too long ago about their performance at the Hallyu Dream Concert, that happened this past weekend.
I'll let the videos speak for themselves, because there's definitely cheering going on supporting our T-ara.

I was at KCON 2013 and I can vouch first hand that there was so much cheering going on for Crayon Pop. There was so much energy in the venue and their performance was awesome.

The representative of Chrome Entertainment (Crayon Pop ) said that after he watched Roly Poly of T-ara, he wanted to created Crayon Pop.

He said that he impressed with Roly Poly. And T-ara is a group that everything from song, dance and outfit are perfect.

Previously, he didn't care about idol groups but T-ara has affected to him so much. After he watched T-ara on TV, he told his friends and his family that: Why did we not creat a girl group like that?

Kerotan reacted to Elly in Layout #10: Prism
After months of hard work, we're thrilled to release our newest layout, Prism! I'm quite happy and excited about launching this as it's been a while since the last time I've been actively part of designing a layout. It's a different look for Diadem overall, it's sharper and cleaner. We wanted this layout to be reminiscent of our very first layout by using Diadem's signature blue-green colour, as found in our subs.
As our previous layout, the Header showcases a random T-ara member when you load up the page. We also changed up the overall arrangement of our RSS table, and have consolidated all the Media Updates (Photos, Subbed Videos, etc) within one tab. Our Video Section is also back up and running.
A big thank you to Z and Mark for designing this layout with me.
We hope you'll like the layout!

    @FreakyFlyBri:
I was going to post something, then I realized you pretty much made my points already. Spot on post, especially the part about no one in the US caring about the scandal lmao
    edit:
For anyone curious, the physical mini-album on Hanteo debuted at number 2 with about 3500 sold, then rose to number 1 the next day. Apparently, the Gaon numbers are always bigger (total physical album sales for May should be revealed early next month).
So even if it sells half of Mirage and ends up with about 20k in physical sales, that's not a bomb. It's less than what they used to achieve, but I feel everyone and their dog figured this would happen, even if they hoped otherwise.
So that, coupled with their recent TV appearances (which all finished without any significant backlash), upcoming TV gigs, and even Boram in a new CF, even if it's all tiny compared to what they used to have, it's pretty much a certainty that CCM won't view this comeback as a failure, regardless of the opinions of fans and antis.

First of all, SNSD has had a full-length English album in the works for a couple of years now. There's no telling when or if that album will ever be released, and even if they do release albums in the same year, it's an entirely different ball game in the states...you said so yourself. SNSD and T-ara will more or less be on the same playing field. And I don't care that two SNSD members speak English fluently, it's not going to really help them all THAT much.
Secondly, making it in the American music industry is all about who you know and how much faith your contacts have in you...nobody gives a damn how big somebody was back in their home country, it won't do them any good when they're trying to promote in the states. That has absolutely no bearing whatsoever when it comes to making it stateside; YG, JYPE, or SME make chump change compared to what labels such as Island Def Jam, Interscope, Epic Records, or RCA can take home. They can't help their artists when trying to make a U.S. advancement. Very few artists make it on pure talent or charisma alone, they have somebody behind them, pulling strings and opening doors for them. As much as I loathe Chris Brown, it is absolutely undeniable that he is the biggest star to have possibly voiced his interest in a K-Pop act thus far...far more relevant than will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, Akon, or any of the other current stars who have mentioned a Korean idol act (if CCM's stories are to be believed).
As far as what Chris Brown did...I admit that I loathe him with a passion, but I'm also discerning enough to know that PLENTY of U.S. artists have collaborated with him recently and been none the worse for it...Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, the list goes on. The U.S. music industry isn't really like Korea in that if you're seen with an unlikeable figure you're automatically blacklisted due to guilt by association; business is, ultimately, business. Furthermore, nobody in the U.S. is going to give two flying ***** about T-ara's bullying scandal. That ridiculous excuse for a hater orgy never would have exploded the way it did, I can guarantee you that. That's what's so bass-ackwards about Korea...they focus on a scandal full of unsubstantiated allegations, yet when it comes to something that probably would be incredibly sensationalized by U.S. media outlets, such as Nichkuhn's drunk driving accident, it almost goes by completely unnoticed...for a bullying controversy? I mean, come on. That xxxx would have been pegged exactly like it was...discord within the group. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ultimately, at this point I don't think T-ara have anything to lose by focusing on activities outside of Korea. JWD's poor performance on the Korean charts show that Korea's just not ready to forgive them right now, if ever. I doubt this collaboration will interfere much with their Japanese activities, as so far nothing has even been confirmed. Instead of focusing on a plethora of possible negatives, let's just see how it plays out. Ultimately this could just be more media play on CCM's part, but it's REALLY important to take into consideration the fact that, if something does indeed happen for the group in the U.S., it's not even remotely similar to anything in Korea.

Wow, I remember seeing reruns of that show a long time ago. This is a great idea, that show was so popular, many people from older generations will definitely be curious to see them again.
Can't wait to see the full video, it'll be great for the fans who've been waiting all this time. And I'm sure the reactions of the netizens who wanted them to go on "hiatus" or disband will give me something to laugh about.

We all will be getting old regardless anyways, and there's enough reasons for everybody to enjoy and watch the music videos. I believe the same as well, and I'm sure the entire fandom from all over the world, including Korea, will definitely love them very much. After all, . . .

Kerotan reacted to FreakyFlyBri in [13.04.04] T-ara's 4-member unit to debut with "Rural Life" in early May
The sub-unit rumors weren't necessarily proven to be false...it could have been that CCM just wasn't ready for the news to be announced yet, and obviously the mention of Double Sidekick being the primary producer was incorrect. The girls are sticking with Shinsadong Tiger for their producer for the track.
And yes, Hwayoung was expelled from the group, but of course they aren't going to put that in their official announcement for this sub-unit. Which sounds better, being expelled or withdrawing from the group? Haha.
Like someone else in this thread said, "Rural Life" sounds like it could be a very rough translation at this point, so who knows? Or maybe it has to do with their concept. Either way, it sounds intriguing, and with Shinsadong Tiger behind it you know it's going to be a catchy, glittery dance-pop song.
As far as the press release stating that it will "mend people's hearts," it's more or less saying that this is CCM's way of slowly reintroducing the group back into the public eye. At one point, EunJiMin were the group's three most popular members, so of course CCM wants to remind people of why they were considered the holy trinity in the first place, and Areum is the new kid in town, so she's in the unit to get more exposure as well.
Ultimately, it's like some people were saying...I don't think T-ara really has anything to lose in Korea at this point. People are going to hate regardless of what they do, but people will also still buy their music and support them if their output is good. Just look at Sexy Love, it may have not done as well as their past releases, but they put out arguably one of the best songs of their careers and killed their performances, and the song did pretty damn good. I think this sub-unit is a good way of testing the waters, so to speak, and I'm sure that it doesn't hurt that sub-units are the big thing in K-Pop right now, like you said; if this goes well, we'll get a song from the full group in a month or two, and if it fails, we'll have a bit longer to wait than we thought. I'm inclined to believe that it will do well though.

^ I believe that's apparent. It's a good scheme too to sell more, but it doesn't mean it's not something to celebrate. I think the songs are pretty good and it's great the fans went out and bought them all, be it even one or two. We're doing our thing in the end in to support T-ara and it's great we managed to push them up rather high. Even with the multiple versions, I wasn't expecting 40k on the first day truthfully.
Previous releases did have multiple versions though 3 at max but yeah, now we gotta see how the survive on the charts. SNSD's recent sales have been lower compared to previous but I wouldn't necessarily use Flower Power as an example as it was right before their second album release. Same situation occurred for Lovey Dovey.

Wow, likely part of the reason it's selling so well is because it's an original song and not a remake. I hope they continue that, because these are huge sales no matter how you look at it! So I guess they knew what they were doing with the 10 different versions!

Well, the netizens already tried something similar to this with Areum, and nobody cared. It's girls gossiping about looks and clothing.
I know this is more sensitive since Soyeon is the target now, but this is not really "controversial" and not even close to "bullying". Netizens won't be able to prove who she's talking about either (though I'm sure they'll desperately try to make something up).
I doubt this will be a big issue, just like the pachinko thing that nobody even remembers now.
