rollercakes
huh. i thought physical discipline was widely accepted and known in korea. i don't know why that would be an embarrassing disclosure, but i guess it's because boram revealed it on national television? idk
lil_moon
i thought it was something really embarecing but its okay to hit the child inorder for him to learn, i mean its for her own good i feel it is nothing to be ashamed of poor boram though
143eunjeong
poor boram.. but i think all parents do like dat.. its not bcoz they hate their child.. its juz bcoz they really love em..
RemyLeeDC
I know how it felt like. Poor Boram. She must have gone through so much during her childhood. Esp when your parents are celebrities. Parents hit their children because they want them to grow up well and learn from their mistakes. Nothing to be embarrassed about if they knew they were doing the right thing for their children. Thanks for sharing:)
ballpoint
I guess it's a cultural thing...Getting hit is a no-no on my book. Poor Boram.
AnthonyTcK
dun really see the embarrassing part since getting hit by ur parents is normal to make the children know what they have done wrong. got hit in the past too by my parents but i think that a culture thing but i think the embarrassing part for her mom is that is said in front of whole Korea but than i think it's common there just like in whole Asia thanks for sharing
Solin
I can understand what she can felt because I have also been hit by my mother during my childhood But It's cultural and today I thank her because I maybe wouldn't be like how I'm today Western cultures tend to condamn such methods but It's not bad at all because It makes children realize their mistakes and respect their parents
Shu Lin
Haha! Beating left Boram unnie so much impression of it. I guess it must be quite painful. Boram unnie could be a naughty child. =X
damyoungji
Can't blame the mother for being embarrassed even though most parents do beat their child(ren). Hopefully she did not get any beatings worse than that. There are definitely a lot of others who got it a lot worse (including me).
Genjo Sanzo
Boram must be a naughty girl when she was young. I guess it's their way to teach children to be good and respect their elders.
erik
At least it was nothing serious, or else she wouldn't be saying it on a show like this with her mother around for entertainment.
Zephyramis
It's illegal here. Nowadays if a mother threatens her child to hit him/her and someone reports that... the mother may have problems. I think that as long as you don't beat the kid, and just give the kid a "correcting hit", the kid will learn faster that that he/she does is wrong... Later on ofcourse a "correcting hit" doesn't help anymore. Beating ofcourse is wrong, using a "weapon" is wrong too. Only one thing... I don't get why she'd say that she was hit by her parents? It's something between you and your parents right?
abot
hehehe...she must be a little naughty kid back then...
iynn512
awwww so pity... but i guess her mother has a good reason for doing that.... and perhaps that's what made boram who she is now... boram is still cute as ever...
Nanda
Boram's mom shouldn't be embarassed. This is a normal thing to teach children the right thing. I don't see nothing wrong. Nowadays, people are too soft in the youngs and because of that they're a little bit of control. Hitting teachs discipline. The parents only do that because they want their sons and daughters to be better. It's not they like to hit them.
Raider
kekeke.. well i think everybody goes through that kind of stuff when they were still a child.. Even i was scolded like that, LOLS!! thats the kind of memories that are really hard to erase.. kekeke BORAN!! how cute!! XDD
Jonathan
There's nothing wrong about parents beating their kids (especially if they're asian), but I find it kinda weird how she would reveal something personal to the public like that. Toke
this is normal in asian family to hit their children in order to teach them a lesson, especially when they were still relatively young. there should be no shame about that!!! boram hwaiting!!! CuteTiara
Ah this i guess to me it's normal since we all will eventually did something bad so it's kinda normal for parents to do that... i admit also have exprience almost the same thing maybe abit worst since i'm a guy... darkdragon88
I guess there is something to be embarrassed about if it is said on national television but really a lot of parents have done it before for discipline. As long as Boram and her mother's relationship is fine now that is all that matters.
tiaraheart
it's just normal for parents to hit their children if they've done something wrong. but maybe boram's feelings were hurt everytime she's hit by her mother.
krazyworld165
Thats okay Boram... I got hit too, back in the day. But its common for asian families to discipline their with physical punishments... nothing wrong, I survived...hehehe
MsCam92
oh, whoa! thank you so much for sharing the piece of news here. by the way, i kind of pity boram unnie but maybe the reason why she was beaten is due to some reason. parents will scold or bit their children if they did mistakes but parents will know thier limit of disciplining thier children. maybe the reason why her mother was embarrassed, is because it was aired on television?
