  1. Some Korean sources look down on them. It's because they rely even on edited audios :P

I saw a vid at a T-ara Citrine group at FB with 2 trainees. They are in a show with T-ara. One is Song Ah Reum while the other one is Choi So Eun. I wonder if they are the 2 people to be added O.O

or maybe they're part of the new 7 member group that is going to europe with t-ara?

  2. [12.04.06] What's the role of the 2 new members of T-ara?

    a>

Changes that will be made to girl group T-ara have been revealed. The current 7 members will be strengthen by the addition of 2 more members, forming a 9 member girl group.

Kim Kwangsoo, T-ara and Core Contents Media's CEO revealed to "DISPATCH' on the 5th that T-ara will have 2 new members and will operate as a 9 member girl group.

What's the rationale behind the 9 member T-ara? Kim Kwang Soo revealed that this was a decision so as to help T-ara solidify its position in the music industry. Adding in 2 members who are outstanding in their singing abilities is to help them fulfill their role as singers even better in the future.

This is also to bring about a breathe of fresh air into the group, as Lead Vocalist Soyeon usually carries most of the responsibilities in singing when the group is promoting. The 2 new member will help to reduce the burden on Soyeon. Furthermore, with an even stronger vocal line, T-ara will have more choices when it comes to songs in the future.

Kim KwangSoo added that "The 2 new members are around the same age as the current members and brought about even more harmony to the current team." and "The new members are good in singing, that's why there are invited to join and help T-ara grow and develop as singers".

T-ara also added their 7th member Hwayoung in July 2010 on their initial 6 member foundation.

As usual my translation might be a bit off but main meaning is there.

would you mind translating this article (or just summarizing main points??) it seems to be criticising the decision to add 2 members - i'm curious to know what media outlets think about KKS's decision

  3. LOL I do not trust Dispatch that much so I can still smile here :P And if that's true, then what the hell will happen to Qri and Boram? Maybe Soyeon and those 2 members will sing most then 1 word each for the remaining members. T-ara's voices are good, you're just not giving them enough lines KKS.

is dispatch not a reliable news reporting site?

  4. They should just give more lines to the others, especially eunjung.. Anyone who's listened to the first album will know eunjungs voice is not bad. But she hardly gets any lines now...especially when the rap is given to hwayoung now. same with hyomin (although she probably gets the most lines after soyeon). Just train the other members' vocals and let them develop instead of making them stand around while giving the new members (who btw have not worked in building up t-ara's popularity) all the lines and screen time.

  5. [12.04.06] T-ara to promote as 9 members beginning in July

    a>

    T-ara has transformed from 7 to 9.

Kim Kwangsoo, T-ara and Core Contents Media's CEO said on the 6th, "T-ara will change from 7 members to 9 members. T-ara's system will change and if it's needed, we'll make the drastic decision of replacing members by bringing in new members.

He said, "In July, T-ara will release and promote a new album with new members. They'll change how they are to fit the 9 of them together."

Kim Kwangsoo CEO said that this decision was made because celebrities, and humans in general, will change and can become lazy which leads to their fall. Kwangsoo said the change to 9 members can help them stay successful and not turn out that same way.

He continued, "A lot of fans are worried and concern for the changes happening to T-ara, but our management knows very well what can happen if the changes aren't made. T-ara will be in a situation where there will be very intense competition, and we don't want to think that they'll not be able to grow. T-ara went through a lot of hard practice to debut as idols. They need to continue to constantly work harder and take on new challenges."

Kim Kwangsoo also wanted to emphasize, "T-ara's controversies including greeting problems, stage attitude problems, etc.. as T-ara's CEO, I'm sorry to the fans. Core Contents Media's staff and T-ara are working very hard to make sure to avoid all controversies."

"If the members are lazy, or harmful to other members including the new members, we'll make the bold decision to remove and replace them with new members."

The news members will join and be announced when T-ara returns in July.

wow.... really want to know korean fans' response to this news... are korean fans angry at this decision??? i want to know if the fan response can be strong enough that KKS can retract his decision. i hope that it can.

  6. [12.03.15] T-ara to become 7~9 members, including replacing members

    a>

Core Contents Media's CEO Kim Kwangsoo announced that there will be a big change coming in April. Revealed today, the current seven member group could become eight or nine. Whether it's an addition of members, or replacing members, is not yet decided.

The purpose isn't to remove or to add but to give the members who give effort and display their skills more opportunities through activities. This is intended to introduce the principle of a competition so the opportunities aren't given to the members who are prideful and lazy.

Kim Kwangoo commented, "I've had 30 years of experience and have done much with singers starting as rookies. After three years as activities as a singer, pride and laziness is effected. Stress becomes a bigger deal and it gets harder. You can't win the competition with this type of mindset. This is what has ruined a lot of singers. If there's no effort or there is no singing skills, the members will not be given parts (measures) to sing."

Kim Kwangsoo also that to take T-ara onto another level and in order to develop the group further, T-ara's music style and concepts will change, including the group members. More information will be released on April 7th.

Meanwhile, T-ara will create a fanclub and hold a concert in July.

  9. Oh you read my blog? Amazing! Thank you <3 Are you Brian?

The thing with AKP is though, that even though they want me for opinion pieces and reviews (they are trying to boost their original editorial content now, rather than just news translations) I obviously can't say anything too crazy and controversial. I can't be on there trashing CCM hardcore or anything lol.

But I would like to write something fun but serious with my thoughts about why T-ara should stay how they are. I can say it in a respectful way.

I think T-ara would be scared to put up a fight and do a lawsuit against CCM. I wouldn't want CCM threatening them, such as leaking scandalous behind the scenes dirt that could ruin their careers. Many idols have huge scandals that the public don't know about it, and I wouldn't want CCM making T-ara's public.

you should definitely write a piece on t-ara for allkpop! especially if korean agencies actually go through the articles on the website. the article reporting t-ara's possible member change was one of the most read/commented - i hope that korean agencies saw that and realised the uproar any member change will bring..haha

and yes, i've read your blog too! love it!
