[13.04.12] T-ara reveal unit name, "T-ARA N4", and Hyomin teaser image

T-ara's unit name has been revealed.

T-ara's first unit, consisting of Hyomin, Jiyeon, Eunjung and Areum, has revealed their unit name to be "T-ARA N4" which stands for "T-ara Brand New 4".

In conjunction with the unit's name being revealed, they have also revealed a teaser poster of Hyomin. T-ara's unit name is uniquely set in the alphabetical background and Hyomin is standing in a corset costume alongside the phrase "would you mind waiting a bit longer? 4.15 am. 11:30". Hyomin was directly involved in making the 2D logo and helped in the album design.

T-ara N4 plan to show off each member's individual personality through bold and colorful accessories and styling. On the 15th at 11:30 AM, member specific teasers and a music teaser will be released for the public.

The title track "Rural Life" is produced by Double Sidekick and has a bit of a hip-hop element, but also a nostalgia element for the older generation. The funky and intense dance song will be released on May 1st.

I'm not sure about how much Hip Hop they'll be infusing into their song and choreographing, one of many questions I have currently about on their concept, but it should prove interesting to see how well they do as a sub-unit. As for a group, I still would like to see and hear all of the members rap.
Note to Original Poster: Please add/update the members who've rapped so far when they do.

Yeah, couldnt agree more. Hip-pop is definitely new to me when I link that with T-ara. Tara & HIP-POP They had some what like Hip-pop feel in Roly-Poly but that was their costume. Now that they are going all out with Hip-pop song, dance and rap, I have my doubts to some extent. And I am not worried about this promotion, but the feedback from General peoples. Given that they made it big with this Hip-pop song, they will have easy time promoting as a whole group in summer but if it's other way, then its nothing more than adding fuel in the fire. Anyway, we are fans and we should always be positive and support them. I want to go as far as to say they will have ALL-KILL but to remain on the safe, I believe they will do better than SL.

I suspect the rap style won't be like previous ones, since they're going with a brand new producing approach with this unit. Granted, I enjoyed their previous ones, and won't mind an expansion to them, but I get the feeling they are going to do something quite different, considering this is a sub-unit with a Hip Hop concept. The amount of lyrics will definitely increase, which would mean a more developed character in each of their deliveries. The key to this will be the background they'll be playing on. I hope it all fits together.

Its 11th today, they said more details would be revealed on 12th including the Title song so I am waiting for D- day, tomorrow!! As much curious I'm about the name, I am more curious about the rap style. I want them to rap like TTL. EunMIn were awesome in TTL. Its their best till date, well according to me. Yeah, for the time being, I, too want to be on a safe side and wait but T-ara has always lived up to my expectation so I am exited to listen to them..

Well, I think all of us are quite capable to learn something new, including the members, so long as they are able to. So I won't sell yourself short, considering how intelligent you are. Indeed, can't wait for T-ara's subunit to debut, but I still want to know the name of this sub-unit, among the type of rap style they'll be using for this new concept of theirs. I don't know if this will tip my balance into choosing which one is better. I doubt it will, but I'll have to see, I mean, listen.

LoL, education mixed with natural street learning ! haha, I dont have that brain to leaning things in such a way based on observation alone. Yeah, all of them are good and they can make people feel the emotions they have in their hearts through rap. Aish, JYP is coming into my mind after saying this sentence..

Trust me, it's all education mixed with natural street learning. Yeah, Choir Classes certain didn't teach rap back in my school days, because it was, and still is, a youthful, off-the-books sort of thing, well, besides the dictionary of course.

Agreed, all of them are good rappers, and show lots of potential, and deliver passable lyrics to keep both the Hip Hop and Rap culture relevant and together in K-Pop.

Emperor, did you learn music or are you throwing words randomly?? As far as raping is concerned, I believe all of them are decent rappers while Eunjung and Hyomin is little better than Hwa' given that they were more trained than the latter. But definitely, Hwa' showed huge progress in her rap from YaYaYa to Day by Day. As Far as the poll is concerned, I am voting Jungiee coz she is my Love but If I have to be fair then all of them are equally talented and decent rappers more or less..

That's understandable. Hwayoung projects more of herself when she raps when compared to the rest of the members rapping. Her style of rapping emphasis more on impact and intonation in the lyrics to flow easily with the background, giving it more depth, thus using more vocal energy than a simple rhyme. Given that Eunjung has more vocal training and developed since then, it doesn't surprise me that she could last beyond the 30 second range. 30 seconds is around Hwayoung's delivery on record so far, but I suspect she could go for much longer, and give a decent minute of verses. Eunjung has a more settled approach on her deliveries, and leans back more on the background, giving that comfortable audio appeal. Hyomin is around the same as Eunjung too, but has a bit more character to stand nicely poised when listening to her deliveries. Yeah, I still can't decide which member is better than the other still.

I'm a optimistic kind of person believing in giving the benefit of the doubt and many chances to people. If anything being optimistic for me is like having hope. At the same time you have to be realistic because you're living in it. Things happen good or bad and you just have to learn from it and whether you use what you learned is up to you.

I met a anti t-ara fan last night in my korean class for beginners. We didn't start going down each others throat, but we just laughed most of the time and joked around with each other. I wouldn't want to go to jail either for beating on a minor and the person was a girl lol.

I started kpop during S.E.S and baby vox days. that means i'm old lol. whether they were popular to the world wasn't important because I just liked them that much. I was supporting them till they ended and still cherish, talk about them proudly when asked how i got into kpop, and occasionally listen to their music still. I really hope t-ara can hold on and someday disband as a group I'll always love and continue to support just like I do with S.E.S who started it all for me.

Respecting what others say and think doesn't mean you have to like it. You can share your thoughts and views, but everyone has a right to their own. silence is golden sometimes.

p.s. are we going to do a support project for the new subunit?

@Scatter.. I am here to fight with you,LOL
As for trying to 'bring back a craze similar to the Roly Poly dance', I really doubt T-ara has much sway in deciding the choreography for its promoted tracks and hell, to repeat the same former glory thing in K-pop is almost impossible. Even SNSD's releases in 2011 and 2010 never managed to go beyond the craze that Gee and Tell Me Your Wish Genie was able to pull off nationwide, and they're under the largest and most wealthy agency in K-pop. There's little to no hope to even think CCM/KKS can do any better. Every major group in K-pop has its big one-time mass success release and releases after that don't usually do much better in scale.
    - I have to disagree with you respectfully here mate. T-ara hit Daebak with BPBP and their popularity didnt go down the hill after it. With each release, they made it bigger and bigger. If the news of this so-called bullying hadnt pop up, I would even dare to say that SL would have done more better than RP & LD. They arent named Transforming Devil without any reason. With each and any concept, they have always done justice to their song and Choreography

[13.04.04] T-ara's 4-member unit to debut with "Rural Life" in early May

7-member girl group T-ara will promote as a unit.

T-ara will debut a unit consisting of Eunjung, Hyomin, Jiyeon and Areum and they recently finished recording their song and are now preparing for their activities. They are trying to debut as early as the end of this month with "Rural Life".

T-ara debuted in 2009 with "Lies" and on their Japanese single "Bunny Style!" which they recently released in Japan, they first tried units. The units were Soyeon-Areum, Boram-Qri and Hyomin-Jiyeon-Eunjung. The songs were all included as bonus tracks for various singles. This will be T-ara's first time doing a formal unit activity.

What is T-ara's reason for doing a unit? The reason for T-ara to do the unit's activity is actually because since Hwayoung withdrew from the group last year, many fans were torn by the news at T-ara's height of popularity. T-ara will form this unit to try and mend the hearts of millions of fans again. Unit groups have been popular lately with Sistar19, 2YOON, ZE:A5, Infinite-H, and various other groups.

The song "Rural Life" is produced by the hitmaker Double Sidekick T-ara will appeal to several generations, both young and old, and both men and women with their new unit song. T-ara plan to create a national dance similar to the "Roly-Poly" craze that they did with two years ago.

Yea, you've pretty much nailed what I was trying to say and my intentions the whole time (hell, probably even wholly as a member here). If I had to put it very simply, one of K-pop's biggest flaws is that the idol groups are constantly sugarcoated and marketed by their agencies as perfect saints that can do absolutely no harm or bad - and as a Korean myself, I do feel obliged to let international fans know that not everything is clear glossy crystal as it's made to be.
Thanks for putting it very clearly Couldn't have said it better myself haha.
    @Eunjung4eva
In my defense, it's not merely out of pride or stubbornness - as much as I can be strong and harshly-worded at times, I do know when to draw the line, concede or stop (as I'm sure you're well aware of our discussions in the past - and attempted to in this previous debacle). The biggest problem I have is that Ryu's behavior has always been like this in the past and has received a lot of flak and complaints for it so it's to be expected he would at least behave more properly instead of repeating the same thing he's been complained about - which does not do anyone any favors at all. And certainly, making excuses for iljins that do things that can be considered criminal acts is actually pretty stupid, no matter how much defense is put onto it.
Notice that he also has ignored your suggestion of having a more calm approach.
As I've mentioned in my previous posts, you perhaps may not have witnessed all the extensive arguments other members had gone through with him in the past (and quite frankly, this occurred a lot more frequently and as one who expected him to behave and be more reasonable due to all the trouble he caused as well as ignoring him after all this time, I had to draw the line in between). You can talk to other regulars here regarding this history and I'll guarantee you, that they'll very likely will say he has issues - namely absolute intolerance to opinions that contrast his. That I can surely and safely say, is the behavior of a fanatic and Diadem quite frankly, doesn't need people like that.
Nitpicking sentences and paragraphs and making multiple arguments out of another argument, as I recall, is not very pleasant and comes off as rude, disrespectful and disruptive to the opposite party and makes debates more heated and pointless (and I'll tell you that even moderator GRIMLOCK himself had his own unpleasant experience regarding Ryu as well). As one who does his best to be a law-abiding citizen in general though, I will still reserve the option to report him without hesitation if he repeats such behavior again.
But with that said, as moderator SimonH said, let's put an end to the argument here as it does not do anyone any favors by this point. I won't dwell any further into this, the moderator's word always triumphs and I fully respect that.
I'll concede here that I myself have gotten carried away myself a bit and heavily apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused for others here, whether it be regular members or staff.
As @Eunjung4eva and SimonH have stated, I also agree put this whole argument to a complete close (can someone actually lock this to prevent it from going wild again? Just to be safe. That's all)
    Thanks peeps!
