  1. According to T-ara's World, Areum's photo shot was accompanied by a somewhat morbid sounding message stating that she had nothing to lose and wasn't even afraid of death, followed by the hashtag first warning.

Some people chose to interpret it as a poorly translated statement of determination without fear but there are others that are more concerned. Can the translators of Diadem take a look and share with us the exact message? Honestly I'm with the worried crowd here...

  2. My prediction is that QBS will fare much better than T-ara N4 because of the market they are targeting as compared to the home country. Let's also not forget that Boram is one of the more popular members in Japan, Soyeon speaks Japanese well, and is one of the best vocalists out there today. Together with Qri as an anchor, they have appeal, maturity, talent and stability.

  3. I still remember Areum having to lay down for awhile during their Bunnisuta Tour in Japan - that's a clear warning sign that the girls were hitting their red limit. With the non-stop performances, appearances on variety/talk shows and, I do believe, countless behind the scene hours spent on rehearsals, the health of the girls are just going to deteriorate even further.

I wonder should Diadem work together with other fan groups and write a joint letter to CCM and let them know of our concerns and plead that the T-ara be given some time to properly rest.

  4. Does this mean, there is also possibility that N4 will be working with artists other than CB? I hope so. I would prefer it more. I wish them the best.

I'm still pessimistic and am putting this down as nothing more than an expensive meet-and-greet that CCM hopes to use as PR material (whatever it's worth). Unless senior management from CCM accompanied the girls and will be meeting Brown's reps and his recording label's executives for genuine business talks, nothing concrete is going to come out from this "exploration".

Perhaps KKS will be satisfied if this publicity event helps to sell a few more thousand records in the home country and brings T-ara to potential consumers' attention in other parts of the world.

  5. P.S What I'm really curious about is, how does Dani know Chris Brown? I read on allkpop that she knew him since her elementary school days. The only way I think one can establish a connection with a famous celebrity at a young age is A) She knew him before he was a celebrity. B) She's got really rich parents.

More likely than not it's an exaggeration by CCM (we all know KKS loves to inflate his sales, fans and attendance numbers to the point of hilarity). Maybe someone from Brown's management knew Dani was part of this Kpop act, gave her a backstage pass to meet and take photos with Brown, and then Dani showed him the MV when they were having the short meet and greet.

  6. Going by the standards of other Kpop groups, I don't think T-ara has much input into the song writing process nor decision to collaborate with other artists. The company engages professional song-writers and even image-producers (though Hyomin does play a bit in this with her zest for fashion and image coordination) for them and it's the job of the girls to accept whatever's put on their plate.

So this so-called meeting and "talking about music" is more likely a) an opportunity for Chris Brown to ogle and make the girls really uncomfortable and B ) a short easily forgettable picture publicity moment that unless backed by something concrete (say management level contract talks with Chris Brown's recording company), has not much benefit.

How recognizable is Chris Brown in Korea anyway? As posters above me have noted, he's got a really rotten reputation, not really huge in influence nor talent in the industry, and so association with him is something a typical Kpop act shouldn't.

  7. Eunjung caught my attention first. It was one of the live performances during their Bo peep x 2 days and I was captivated by her short hair and good looks. Yeah, back then she looked the most distinctive to me. Later when I came to the conclusion that they weren't mere clones of one another (give a man a break ok?), my bias shifted over to Hyomin. I was bought over by her charms and dorkish charisma. Ahreum's starting to grow on me now - good singing and pleasant personality. Never been much of a Jiyeon fan really.

  8. If you think the sub-group's going to be giving a full-expose on this one program then I think you'll be pretty disappointed. It will be more likely than not, as you have put it, "sorry-assed" again.

And that's going to be the problem. Guys like you would be left disappointed and wanting more while T-ara marketing nose-dives even further than we thought possible because old fiasco gets churned up again.

By the end of last year, I have already made my peace and buried my dead; from the looks of it, we will never ever get to know the real truth and the full details from CCM and Hwayoung. That being the case, I agree with the rest of the thread that it's better to move on then to dwell on the issue. And if my understanding of your post is correct, that you insinuate that CCM may have a hand in dredging this thing up from the depths again (after all i'm sure the limits of interview must have been prior agreed to between CCM and the show producers), then yes, it truly is a really really risky move to pull. More liable to backfire than not if the audience is teased but not fed enough.
