  1. Every now and then the visual and the face are different but it's usually the same person.

Jiyeon is the face and the visual in T-ara for example but Dasom is the visual in Sistar whereas Hyolyn is the face.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the words 'visual' and 'face' the same in korean?  I was fairly sure at least entertainment companies use one word for both of them. Honestly it's silly that people bother to differentiate them. The visual/face is the mascot, the most popular member  is just  that, the most popular member of the group. Trying to make up different categories that aren't even used by companies just makes things more complicated then they need to be. Reminds me of that guy on Onehallyu that made a thread to differentiate different positions that companies never used, like center man/woman and such.

  2. The visual and face are basically the same, I think it's even the same word used for both in korean. It's the member considered the prettiest and most distinctive in the group. Usually stands in the center during interviews and such and is promoted a lot for their looks. It's basically the group's mascot. In T-ara's case I think it's safe to say it's Jiyeon. Doesn't necessarily have to be the most popular in the group, though that is often the case.

  3. 'Little apple' is promoted more in China than in Korea so it was bound to do poorly. Korea is getting to be a pretty dry well so they're mostly going after chinese audiences(smart move imo). As for youtube there are multiple official uploads for the same video, for god knows what reason, and most people aren't going to check the same video on a different channel just to give the girls extra views. Besides, chinese, target audience, don't use youtube that much since it's blocked in most of China. They have their own site, I forget the name.

Oh, and about all the hate the girls get. They're still better off than a lot of other groups even after the scandal(2 of them even had solo debuts) so things aren't really that bad.

  4. After listening to more and more of their performances, old and new, and paying attention, I'm tempted to say Hyomin. I used to think she was behind Soyeon and a tiny bit behind Eunjung(thought only by a bit), but now I'd actually say she's a little more stable than either of them and more consistent. To be honest her 'problem' is that her range isn't as high as Soyeon's or Eunjung's so they get the higher parts(chorus/higher notes) and it can be tempting to write her off as inferior.

That's a bit Hyomin's fault too, she sometimes seems to sing lower than she has to sometimes(perhaps to make her voice more alluring?) and it makes her voice seem weaker than it is, while Eunjung, and sometimes Soyeon, are the opposite and sing higher than they can/should and it makes their voices seem all the stronger in comparison, even if they strain and sound a bit too close to yelling. As a side note, I think that's why Hyomin's and Eunjung's voices on Immortal song weren't in harmony.

Normally I don't think there's that much difference between their ranges. Hyomin's proven to be able to hit higher notes pretty well when she has to.

Now I'm tired, tipsy, Hyomin biased as of late and may have gone a bit off so sorry for that.

    I'm still changing muh vote!

  5. ^ HA. I second this. My opinion is changing faster than new kpop fans changing bias, but now I think it's Hyomin!

I can't believe I've been so oblivious all this time. Hyom-oppar's legs are obviously the real deal, like... I think the order for those only came once every hundred years-- what am I saying? Lol

It's easy to miss it because she's often too underweight. Honestly I was very surprised at first when I saw people say that she was the sexy one in the group since she just seemed the silly one. And yeah, the girl certainly has the real deal :D. I can only imagine how she'd look if she put on a few pounds.

  6. It amazes me how quickly my opinion changes on this  :P . But overall, I'd say Hyomin's are the most impressive when she has a more or less healthy weight. She's overall very well proportioned and has the most impressive curves imo(took me some time to actually notice that since she's often too underweight). Jiyeon and Qri aren't far themselves.

  7. I don't think I've ever voted for them or anyone else on any music show. Part of it is just apathy but it doesn't seem that important to me anyway, except maybe for rookie groups that need their name out there even if just for a while. T-ara's already established and selling, so who really cares? If you really want to help them that much then I think buying their stuff is the only worthwhile thing you can do.  I mean, I don't do that since  I don't care as long as they're not going bankrupt anytime soon, and when anyone can download their stuff online they likely get most of their money from performances anyway, but I suppose if you fancy yourself a 'true fan', go for it.

  8. Before watching the MV several times, I would have said Boram or Qri. But now it's something like this:

    1. Hyomin - fair part of it is because I feel she has a certain presence that the others either lack or don't have as much, and because she's generally the prettiest in my view, which is why she's often my pick. Otherwise she'd be in Boram's or Qri's place. She still overall had great make-up, hair, extensions and this is one of the times when she looks like she hasn't starved for a month, but I can't stand it when she, or any of them, use intense red lipstick, they look so weird with it that it lowers their appeal by a lot.

    2. Eunjung - I like her weight loss, her hair, her presence was more demanding than usual, and pretty much everything was great as far as I can see. This is probably her best concept so far and I love it a lot(those fishnets  ). Only reason she isn't #1 on my list is because her face is generally a little plainer than most of the others and sometimes she's oh so very slightly awkward when trying to pose/look a certain way for the camera. Very slightly but it's still there, imo.

    3. Boram - I loved our little stoner in this concept. She was gorgeous, her hair was greatly done, her outfits were cool, especially the one where she looks like she could have fit in Jeon Won Diary, and her eye contacts went really well with all of that, something that doesn't really happen with the others most of the times. I would probably rank her #2 instead of Eun, but she just hasn't come up that much in the video :(, which is a shame because this is her best concept and in the little camera time she's had, she seems a bit more confident than before(or maybe it's just me?)

    4. Qri - She rocked the concept, but like Boram she didn't show up that much. She looks oddly nice with contacts and at times she looks like a real princess, but at other times her hair is a bit unfiting for her face. Overall, she was stunning but she's had better.

    5. Jiyeon - I honestly think she could have been a lot better. Long, dark hair doesn't look that good on her when she has eye contacts and the lipstick ruined it further for me. Honestly just removing the contacts and changing the lipstick, or at least removing the contacts, could have made her look a lot better. She's still pretty, they all are, but it could have been a lot better.

    6. Soyeon - She really got the short end of the stick in this one, imo. So pretty much like Jiyeon, I feel this concept suited her the least. I still like how she looks quite a bit, but the more I watch the MV the more I think that their stylists didn't bother too much with her. I guess they can't have her rock it vocally and visually.

  9. Nice job on the review. I agree with much of it, though at first I thought the song was really lackluster. I'm still not sure how much I like the way they autotunned their voices. Soyeon sounded the best imo, Boram was also pretty cool. Eunjung sounded better than usual(her voice tends to annoy me nowadays). Qri, Hyo and Jiyeon were a bit ehh but I still wish they had given Hyomin more lines.

    Visually they all shined.

  10. The song is a bit disappointing for my tastes. A bit bland, I guess? But it's decent enough, it'll probably grow on me in time.

The video is too fast paced but the content is pretty awesome. They all look gorgeous and the concept suited pretty much all of them, especially Boram. This is probably the best concept/styling she's ever had.

Now I have a morbid curiosity regarding the Brave Bros song.

  11. can't believe they haven't choose a title track yet when they already did the group photo and other stuff...

I mean Hyomin has been constantly hinting us about their comeback even when she was still promoting her solo and they even release their studio photo with Eunjung,Hyomin and Soyeon recording a song. Come on CCM...

I think they're just trying to build up hype.
