  1. Hwayoung in 'Day by Day'. Because of her cool hairstyle(which also made me confuse her with Eunjung at times) that fit her greatly and distinctive voice that was distinctive, especially since CCM autotunes the non rapping members' voices in such a way that it's hard to tell there are several people singing. And her parts were longer than the others' so she stood out more.

Hyomin's horrible editing did not help any of the members stand out though.

  2. But at least your average worker doesn't have their privacy invaded in severely gross means, and in the end are not bound by slave-like contracts - whereas in the case of idols, it's not uncommon to not even being allowed cell phones and having to work for mobsters or simply people deeply connected with them as a significant portion of Korea's entertainment business is associated (if not even controlled by) with organized crime since as early as the 1960s, not to mention severe diets that are borderline to starvation, prostitution rings and the list goes on. Heck, it's not even abnormal for idols not being able to see their families for months if not even longer.

I've heard a few things like this before but you make it seem worse than I thought. Any place where I can read more about this sort of thing? Because this seems very interesting and it makes me wonder what T-ara might have had to go through under KKS, especially since the guy's shadey as hell.

  3. Can you enlighten me as to how KKS made "it harder for them to bond like actual humans" ?

For all his notoriety, I don't recalled such extreme treatment ever been made.

I'm referring to making them compete with one another beyond the reasonable limit. He's created a toxic work place, making it hard to make friends in a field where it was already hard enough.

I do agree K-pop is a very competitive, also cutthroat field. But then, if you can't trust in your band mate, who do you expect to have your back?

I'm not saying there's not some degree of fellowship among them, I just doubt it's even close to what they try to make it look like.

  4. Most Idols already rehearsed their answers beforehand, so they came prepared when they were asked during interviews. But, that shouldn't overshadowed the fact that these girls knew & worked alongside each other for 4 years. Not to mention they shared both hardships & achievement.

Despite the sugary words, their feeling of appreciation to their collagues should be viewed as natural if not, genuine.

In general I am a tad skeptical when it comes to how much idols really appreciate each other, and even more so when it comes to these ladies.

Not only are koreans in general very competitive with each other, to my understanding at least, and k-pop is a very competitive field, but KKS was very effective in making it harder for them to bond like actual humans. Combine that with the fact that statements like this are good for their image and I can't find myself to believe much of them.

  5. Right now I'd say Eunjung. She's pretty good though she hasn't had much rapping parts in a long while. I would have said Hwayoung if she was still here, her raps generally had more oomph, her voice was more fitting for raps, and during her later days she was fiercer on stage, her recorded raps even during her earlier days. Many of her live 'Day by Day' performances were not as good as Eunjung's, but Eunjung, as far as I saw at least, didn't dance while rapping, unlike Hwa, and I'm pretty sure she was backed up at several points by a recording of Hwayoung.

  6. It used to be Hwayoung. But since she's long gone, I can't say I have a favorite member that always stays the same, it's always changing. Most times it's Hyomin I think, followed by Eunjung(possibly because they're good rappers), though I detest how overexposed they are at times. Makes me like them grudgingly.

Though to be honest I often have periods when I can't find myself to like any of them, I've had these periods ever since I first saw them in mv's and on variety, something about them tends to put me off. The bullying scandal, of which I heard of only after already 2 weeks or so after I got interested in T-ara, didn't help in that regard.

I'm gonna stop rambling now lol.

  7. 4. Wouldn't have sent his own goons to the news outlet Sports Seoul and basically threatened them - and that triggered the latter to make articles that ran down on N4 as a result. In Korea, that sort of behavior is something only mobsters do today.

Do you have a source on this one? Not that I don't believe you but this is the first time I hear of this.

  8. 'Day by Day' for me. Or rather, Hwayoung's part in it. She got me to take an interest in T-ara. After that I started searching for some of their other songs and became a fan after a while. Not sure what song marked my entry into their fanbase, possibly 'Lovey Dovey' or 'Why are you being like this' or the japanese 'Roly poly'(since Hwayoung was much more noticeable in that one than in the korean one).
