Their cries for a break are legitimate and shouldn't be stifled; there's no reason to punish them for telling the truth, and if you want them to get through the dreaded "3 year curse" intact then I'd be doing my damnedest to keep them happy and satisfied, not pouring salt on their wounds.

I think the difference here is that Hwayoung WANTED to be in the industry, she was scouted on an entertainment show she appeared on, so she already knew this was something she wanted to do.
