[13.03.27] T-ara's Eunjung-Hyomin-Jiyeon-Areum to form a sub-unit and create national trend 7-member girl group T-ara will return in late April or early May as a sub-unit consisting of Eunjung, Jiyeon, Hyomin and Areum. The team's name is not yet decided, but they plan to takeover with a national dance trend. T-ara's agency Core Contents Media said on the 27th, "We are sorting out the details for a sub-unit for Eunjung, Jiyeon, Hyomin and Areum right now." T-ara will work with the new hitmaker, Double Sidekick. Double Sidekick has made several hit songs lately, including Davichi's "Turtle" most recently. This will be the first time T-ara works with this composer. Eunjung, Hyomin, Jiyeon and Areum will appear similar with their promotions with T-ara, contrary to what most usual sub-units do. Their agency said, "We want to take this chance to familiarize the public with them individually." T-ara plan to appear on stage with a dance similar to the Village People's "YMCA" dance which became popular in the late 1990's that is easy to follow. The song will have an easy and gentle melody and dance their agency hinted. T-ara hope to make the dance a national trend. Their agency joked, "The song will hopefully be the second coming of 'Gangnam Style'." The other members, Qri, Boram and Soyeon, will stick to individual activities. They're moving up (or down) the normal KPop path. But i think it's too early. You'd think after the controversy CCM would focus on promoting their bond and togetherness as T-ARA. Instead he pounces on the wall head-on and widens the crack. I want to say this won't affect the members but who are we kidding? As much as we see them as angels, they're human. They get hurt. They feel jealousy. A competition exists no matter how friendly. I'm happy about my EunJiMin (plus areum) sub-unit but I'm also hoping that Soyeon, Boram, and Qri get their own gigs. They're not any less talented. They're part of what got T-ara where they are now. But more than anything, I just want to see them all together. I mean, it was already painful when Hyomin was missing during Banisuta promotions. Now this? We can only hope for the best, I guess.

You can't just set out to create a trend and think it will be the next biggest craze...

Tbh I think that CCM should've just debuted a Soyeon-Areum (vocal subunit) or Hyomin-Jiyeon-Eunjung (sexy subunit).. Eh whatever T-ara hwaiting <333

i think it will be a lot better if it is just EunJiMin. they just giving Areum a special treatment because i know eunjung and hyomin can rap to. I hope it will be a big hit, i pray for it and no negative reactions from the K-netizens. T-ara Fighting!

I think this is great news for the four mentioned...CCM is sort of having to "reintroduce" T-ara slowly back to the Korean public, so this gives them a chance to show their stuff and remind people why they were considered the most popular members of the group in the first place. As for Areum, it gives her some much needed exposure. I think they'll do well. I just think we need to remember that at this point it's probably a pipe dream to hope for Lovey-Dovey/Roly-Poly sized numbers, if their song can break 2 million in Korea I'll call it a success. I do think that something similar needs to be done in the near future for Boram, Qri, and Soyeon though. I know Boram and Soyeon got a lot of the hate post-controversy (and, in Soyeon's case, she even became involved with a second scandal with the whole Kakao Talk mess). Then again that might be why CCM's letting them sit this one out. Hopefully they get a chance to show their stuff in the near future as well. At any rate, it looks like their schedule's picking back up again! They're going to be extremely busy, I'd imagine that around the time they head back to Japan in preparation for their tour they'll also be readying a new single and album to be released to tie in with the concert. I just wonder where Dani fits into all of this, haha.

I'm sorry for breaking the mood, but actually I wasn't really happy when I first heard this news Even if EunJiMin are my most favorite members, I just..don't feel right Hell, T-ARA have just gone through all the dramatic chaos last year, and even the damage after-effect still exists until today. At times like this, I prefer them staying together and move as ONE group. The strong members' bond and good atmosphere in group are what they need the most to resist all the hatred and bashing now Besides, this... I feel really bad for Soyeon-Qri-Boram. I assumed that "individual activities" for the 3 of them which CCM stated is just a passing-by-formality-comments like usual. Heck, they are humans, if I was them I would be pissed off. Areum just joined, and got all these things that Qri-Boram-Soyeon could only dream about for almost 4 years. I understand Areum is amazing and that CCM want to promote her as hard as they could by putting her with the most popular members, but still...it's a bit unfair for Soyeon-Qri-Boram -__- Pardon me

Hmm, the unnies will focus more on solo activities? A reversal of the previous trend (of EunJiMin having more individual activities). Let's see how things work out. The change is nice to allow the unnies more exposure (it's been awhile since either Boram or Qri had any such endevours, and we know Soyeon's first venture was cut short). Assuming it's actual projects and not sidelined. Keep an open mind and see.

While I find it strange that Areum is on the sub-unit rather than Soyeon, I find it a plus point as well. Our girls are still being hated in Korea and I can say the least hatred members are Qri and Areum only. I believe Areum wont be bashed for that so-called Bullying scandal while 3 sisters are the base of T-ara. Though it may be more or less unfair for me to say to rest members but EunJiMin are the most popular figures in T-ara and that's a fact. If they really formed sub-unit and if they did well than it will provide aid to T-ara's comeback that's goonna take place in summer. I'm not with this at all. I want full comeback not a sub-unit. and it's early to comeback to Korea! KKS should let people miss t-ara and their music more, and work on SPEED, 5dolls etc more and more t-ara will NOT stay FOREVER as the group who makes a lot of money in the company. imagine if they back next year with an amazing concept and great song? the reaction will be different than if the back this year right? if they back next year everybody will miss them not just the fans. ( see 2pm as an example ) it gonna be amazing if KKS let t-ara focus on japan activates till May, let them do some solo activities or work more on themselves ( take piano or rap classes for ex) and then give them a break.

Eunjung isn't bad and Hyomin's been rocking her stuff more lately, Jiyeon and Hyomin together all the time makes sense though, so we'll see how this works out. After School Red, TaeTiSeo, Sistar19, 2Yoon, so many sub-units going. lol

I think it's pretty darn obvious that the public already has a very good idea who Jiyeon, Eunjung and Hyomin are since...I dunno, because they already got the most promotions during T-ara's whole lifetime as a group? - and on the worst side, Hyomin and Jiyeon's reputation in Korea is the worst of the entire group up to the point it's like a large permanent black stain on them. It's not going away anytime soon. If they're going to appear 'similar' to what T-ara as a group does, then it's either A) CCM's slowly taking the steps to moving the group when Soyeon, Qri and Boram's contracts expire or get kicked for whatever reason, or, B- Laziness and not being able to bother even coming up with something different for this subgroup. 2. There goes CCM again with its typical overhyping, just like it did with virtually the vast majority of T-ara's comebacks. It's old and really makes it look laughable - or just really hard to even take seriously. Not even YG would do something as specific as this when it comes to media play. National trend? Is this a joke? Last year for Day By Day before it was released, CCM claimed everything about the choreography would be super cool and all because it was Jonte who made it. I sure as hell don't remember people commenting how 'awesome' or memorable it was as opposed to Roly Poly's one, and even that's pretty much forgotten nowadays. 3. Good luck with reaching over 150k fans XD. That's probably the rough estimate of the total number of J-fans for SNSD and Kara - whose status and popularity in essence, dwarfs T-ara by miles. This is hardly any different than that idiotic statement (or rather, boast) from early last year when CCM said it'll give a 'free concert' if the Jewelry album reached 500k sales - which it never got even close to achieving half or even a quarter of that amount. In fact, it only achieved a little over 100k sold during 2012. 4. On the plus side, at least the three underdogs (okay, Soyeon probably isn't *that* much of an underdog but compared to other members, still one to a degree) are supposedly getting something of their own. But for all things considered and how CCM isn't so capable of keeping true to its promises or statements, Boram, Qri and Soyeon getting individual activities can only be proven once news of them being confirmed for specific activities comes out.

I definitely can see this coming. CCM is preparing for the public to get used to T-ara's sub-unit, so later on if they decide to let the unnies go, Queen's wouldn't feel too shocked. Because by then, they have already get used to seeing the sub-unit aka the new T-ara without the elders. It isn't a bad move at all, sometimes we need to be realistic, it's a matter of whether you want to save some or let all die. Eunjimin and Areum are compatible in terms of stage presence (dance, energy, looks, etc..) and still have more years ahead of them to stay as K-pop idols. As for the 3 other girls, CCM said they were going to focus on their individual activities. Maybe Sso and Qri can start learning English so that my chance to get one of them would be increased. *I'm joking and not delusional. *

Right? I feel the same way about Bunny Style promotions. It lacked a follow through. CCM created a hype, released the previews, gave the J-fans sad excuses for a mini-concert, and then just threw in the CDs and left them to sell on their own. Not that it didn't work. But it needed more push. I agree with what you said.. they should have stayed a while longer and maybe do more guest appearances on music shows and what not. Ah, i dont know why i even bother compaining. CCM's always got the ace. You can't ever guess what tricks they have up their sleeves. Adding members, taking one out, solos and subgroups... and of course, the most recent highlight.. a YMCA dance step. XD I'm kind of looking forward to it actually. It could either be sexy or cute/dorky. Either way works for me.

You'd have always thought if there was to be another subunit or something along the lines of TTL, Soyeon would be included. Sounds like this new song could be like Roly Poly, which had a dance all ages could do and enjoy. The whole Gangnam Style/YMCA tidbit thing...lol. Welp, regardless of everything, just give me some good music.

So happy for them! I've been wanting an EunJiMin sub-unit for the longest time, and now it's finally here! Although, I'm still lukewarm about Ahreum's addition, I hope she can prove herself now . T-ara anti's are really going to hate on this sub-unit, like there is no tomorrow. But whatever. The fans are going to love it. T-ara fighting! I hope Jiyeon unnie gets to be center like she did in Roly Poly .

I would love to have Soyeon in this sub group instead of Areum BUT I think this will be good way to push Areum out into the public more since she's not very well known. I'm excited!

Two lead singers, one sub vocalist, one rapper, so now sub-unit trend is also hitting T-ara, I hope this would turn out good, perhaps this was decided to allow for Areum to have more exposure. Short to say, Boram, Qri and Soyeon will have other works like doing MCs, dramas-acting or even releasing more solo singles? Is Dani fitting anytime soon?

[13.03.13] T-ara perform in front of 100,000+ fans, Japanese promotional tour met with great success After a 15-city promotional tour in Japan, T-ara has returned to Korea. T-ara departed for Japan on February 20th and toured over 15 locations including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo and Fukoka. On the 10th, they came back to Korea. In the 15 showcases in front of Japanese fans, T-ara caught the attention of over 100,000 fans and met with the Japanese fans to give them cards. Hyomin was unable to attend the showcases because she is filming for the movie "Jinx" in Japan. I think more like 100,000 people that attended the performances. Not 100,000 fans. That is a huge starking difference. If we take into a look into the numbers here, the Diadems here alone number at nearly 40,000 and that's a combination of multiple countries around the world. The Korean fandom, even larger than that (and even then, was still large enough to keep Sexy Love from being a big whacking flop, as many people expected it would). I really doubt there could be 100,000 people even considered as fans of the group in Japan. Hell, even SNSD's J-fanbase alone there is probably around the 100-150k range, and that's being the second most popular K-girl group in Japan.
