  1. [14.05.20] Jiyeon, “I am not looking to compete with G.NA and Hyosung; I want to prove T-ara has not given up” On the 19th, Jiyeon held a press conference in Gangnamgu at Core Contents Media ahead of the release of her first solo mini-album. At the conference, she revealed her feelings of satisfaction and burden of being the first T-ara member to promote as a solo artist. “Because I’m the maknae, do I have to be the first [to have a solo debut]?” Jiyeon joked at the beginning of the press conference. Regarding her upcoming solo debut, Jiyeon said that, “The first time I was offered a solo debut I could was hesitant. I worried a lot about having to do everything by myself and it was a burden to me so much that I trembled and couldn’t sleep at night. ” “I’ve practiced a lot and I’m getting a lot of support now from fans,” Jiyeon said. “I also received support from the T-ara unnies and Duble Sidekick sunbaes.” She continued with, “It wouldn’t be true to say I don’t still feel burdened, but I think it’s a good image for me to overcome the challenges I’m faced with.” It’s also very troublesome for Jiyeon to have to stand alone when in the past, she was used to standing on stage along side five unnies. But Jiyeon won’t be staying true to T-ara’s colors. “I have a lot greed. We have prepared a different style of song and choreography. I want to show charms that are unique to me,” she said. Jiyeon’s title song “1MIN1SEC” was composed by the team Duble Sidekick and shows off a unique charm of poetic lyrics and melody in a mid-tempo beat. The lyrics are in the view of an honest woman who cannot ever give up on the man she loves. The concept of “1MIN1SEC” is sexy. Jiyeon said that, “It was not my idea to have a sexy concept. I wanted to have an androygnous concept, with some feminine and masculine aspects.” But when she was asked what sexy meant to her, Jiyeon replied, “I never thought of myself as sexy, but now when I go up on stage, I feel like my gaze is slowly changing. I am becoming more confident.” At the same time as Jiyeon, G.NA and Jeon Hyosung have came back as solo artists. Inevitably, they all have been compared because of their songs all being composed by Duble Sidekick but because they also all have sexy concepts. Jiyeon said, “I worried in the beginning about this, but after watching their songs and music videos, I realized we all have different concepts. So I think that we can all have a win-win situation.” She continued, “In reality, I’m not close with many celebrities, but I hope I can use this opportunity to be closer with them. I am competitive, but not right now.” When she was asked how she would stand out, she said, “I actually don’t have any weapon. I would only say I’m trying to do my best.” She also stated, “Honestly, I just want to show that T-ara has not given up.” In conclusion, Jiyeon revealed her future expectations: “This is not the last time I will make a solo album,” she said, “I hope to take on the challenge again.” Jiyeon’s “Never Ever” mini-album will be released at noon today (May 2oth) and her first stage performance will be on the May 22nd episode of M!Countdown. Make sure you have purchased her album via YesAsia if you haven’t already! *** Source: Newsen / BNT News Translated by: Nathaniel @ Diadem

  11. [14.04.15] Eunjung cast as the lead female role alongside Lee Jangwoo in new movie "The Boss Begins"! Great news for Eunjung fans today! After three years, we will finally be able to see our Baekgu going back into acting through the new film "The Boss Begins" (director Park Seunghyun)! On the 15th, an official for the movie revealed to Asiae, "T-ara's Eunjung has joined the production of 'The Boss Begins' alongside Lee Jangwoo and Son Hojoon." "The Boss Begins" follows the trilogy of the 2001 film "My Boss, My Hero", 2005's "My Boss, My Teacher" and 2007's "The Mafia, The Salesman". Park Seonghyun, the director of the movie "Three Kims", will be the director of "The Boss Begins". Eunjung previously had roles in the dramas "Coffee House" and "Dream High" as well as the movie "White: The Curse of the Melody". In 2011, she appeared in MBC's "We Got Married" as the virtual wife of Lee Jangwoo and now she will appear again with him through the new movie. For the past three years, Eunjung has focused only on T-ara's activities. This will be her first lead role since "White". "The Boss Begins" is aiming for a summer release. *** Source: http://www.asiae.co.kr/news/view.htm?idxno=2014041510211500701 Translated by: Nathaniel @ Diadem

    [14.05.20] Jiyeon,

I love the song so freaking much! I didn't have much expectation on the MV and dance tbh but I'm pleasantly surprised Gotta say that I love the 1MIN1SEC dance point the most, the batdance looks quite good too I'm far from being disappointed. Jiyeon fighting !

  17. She should have stay flawless like a JiYeon instead on her tshirt lol, that photo of hers is really flawless. Thank goodness that the MV (and hopefully the choreography) is not overly sexualized. Although the song is over my expectations but I guess its a pretty nice song. However I think I'm more used to T-ara style songs like cry cry, number 9, or the roly poly lovey dovey type lol. Hope she does well in charts ! Go dino !

  21. Yes, one point is that the popularity of the Hallyu wave ~at least for the girl bands~ seems to be ebbing not only in Japan but also the rest of the world & even in Korea itself (honestly I don't even follow K-pop as much as I use to anymore accept for T-ara & KBS variety shows) but the other point is both Kara & T-ara are neglecting to promote their J-songs & albums prior to the release. The fact is that T-ara can still chart over Perfume (album debuted same day and was #4 just below T-ara) who are #1 at Nikkei Entertainment 2014 Female Group Ranking without real effort (http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bml4NKTCEAAETE7.jpg) shows that our girls can actually compete with the local big names if CCM would just put more effort to it. As mentioned above this is still an accomplishment. But what type of promotion did the members actually do in Japan for Gossip Girls besides that team battle in Sakigate Eight? When was the last time they performed live on Japanese TV? Heck Gossip Girls doesn't even have a real MV (which are called PVs~ P-romotional V-ideos in Japan btw.... Promotional.... Videos...) accept a recycled version of Do You Know Me (where their lips don't match) and Behind the Scene videos. TV & PV before the sale day that's the ticket to good sales & I can't believe CCM couldn't get the airtime if they just allocated more money & manpower on promoting. To me right now CCM is just looking at the Japanese market as a place where they can make easy side-pocket money without investing too much time, energy & funds to do it. Which is a waste since the T-ara members have did a great job in recording Gossip Girls (love the songs!) & no doubt will love to put some of the good old T-ara-style hard work to promote it (remember the Bunny Style multi-city promotion?). So basically if: 1. CCM's strategy is getting as much money possible from Japan by spending as little as they can so CCM can allocate more resources to their activities in Korea -->SUCCESS! 2. If CCM wants to make T-ara a household name in Japan and overpass Kara (which is still recovering from member losses) as the #2 K-girl band there ---> DO A BETTER JOB CCM!

  22. I understand what you all say but the thing is are you sure everyone out there also thinks like you? Obviously no. And as mentioned in the article it's not just about splashing water, it's about one stuck in a water-filled box. Think again, what's good for Jiyeon if she and CCM decided otherwise? There's definitely no good in it. People will jump in and start saying that Jiyeon wanted to shove the pains into the faces of those families while the whole nation is still in pain. Believe me, they will, and a few of you who think differently won't be of any help for Jiyeonie. To avoid controversy is necessary and better than trying to explain it later. Because obviously people are more attracted to negative things than positive ones. It's not like T-ara never had any scandal and we all witnessed how cruel it was.

  23. boo hoo hoo. stop crying. this is exactly what i talked about in another post. t-ara fans will blindly stick up for t-ara and thats exactly what KKS wants. he expects all the fans to love t-ara no matter what. i said it before ill say it again. i will not support KKS, and if that means i have to also not support t-ara in the process i am willing to do that. i will not purchase or watch anything t-ara without hwayoung involved. and again if it is revealed hwayoung doesnt want to come back to t-ara (which i couldnt blame her after all this) then i will have no problem accepting it. cant say id still feel the same way about t-ara or comfortable supporting them meaning that money is going to the poopface KKS. KKS damaged t-ara and is unwilling to admit fault and take the steps needed to fix it. take a stand and save t-ara. dont sit back and let KKS win. HWAYOUNG FOREVER
