  3. Correction, Seohyun debuted at the age of 16. 2NE1 may be an exception but in the case of SNSD, do note that the age gap between the members isn't very wide itself - 6 of the members alone are all 89'ers, Seohyun only 2 years below while Soo Young and Yoona are 90'ers. If KKS's claims that the new members are 'talented' is correct, this can be seen as a jab towards the current older members to leave on their own will - kicking them out for whatever reason will bring even more negative publicity regardless of the reason. Plus, we don't even know how the current members would react to this behind-the-scenes - considering they worked tooth-and-nail for 3 years to get to where they are now, it's doubtful they'd be easy on some newbie who's practically going to ride their popularity. Why fix something that's not broken? The only person who needs to be fixed is KKS himself along with whoever in CCM's management agrees with him. After School actually was actually fairly popular in its earlier days but all things considered, with the whole graduation concept and the influx of new members, they pretty much sank and Pledis Ent. doesn't look like it's doing much of a good job either (debuting multiple groups at a short period of time - arguably can be seen that AS hasn't brought them enough revenue to stay afloat in the long run). I wouldn't even go as far to compare 2NE1 and T-ara as they're entirely different groups in concept, member line-up etc. You might as well be comparing apples and oranges. Both are fruits, but wholly different in color, taste, shape etc.

  4. I like SNSD too but is it really necessary to say that she's Girls' Generation Yuri look-alike?(is it just me or she don't resembles Yuri?).Publicity much, huh CCM?? Sigh,I was really hoping the 14 year-old addition news was a joke but it seems that my nightmare has come true.T-ara's schedules are really harsh, tight, murderous and there are almost no gap in between.I'm not looking down on her but I doubt she manage to "survive" without collapsing twice or more during her time with the girls. Like Scatter-88mil said,I too can see the potential of Boram and Qri leaving the group - either by their own will or been forced by that scumbag.IF what KKS claimed that these two girls are really good singers is true (which I doubt),Soyeon might leaves the group too. I'm starting to worry if T-ara might be a laughing stock from netizens for having a Mother-Daughter years gap a.k.a Auntie Boram and Auntie Qri.

  5. So it's official? This 14 year old is going to be joining them as the 9th member? :/ *throws hands up* I give up. xD

  6. [12.05.31] T-ara's Thailand concert on June 3rd is sold out T-ara's concert in Thailand has been sold out. On the 3rd, T-ara will have a solo concert at the Bangkok International Exhibit Center (Hall 105 BITEC Bangna). The approximately 7,800 seat concert arena has been sold out. This will be T-ara's first solo concert in Thailand and T-ara are looking forward to performing their hits like "Lovey-Dovey" and "Roly-Poly". T-ara are also excited to meet their Thai fans again and create a lot of memories on stage. T-ara's leader Soyeon has designed T-ara's own poster for their concerts in Thailand, Japan and Korea. Soyeon wrote the dates of the concert as well as a description. After their concert in Thailand, T-ara will start their solo concert tour in Japan on the 19th by going to six Japanese cities. On July 14th, T-ara will have their fanclub opening inauguration ceremony for "QUEEN'S" and on August 11th, they'll have their first Korean solo concert. *** Source: http://news.nate.com/view/20120531n07214 Translated by: Nathaniel @ Diadem

  7. This announce must be a joke, seriously a 13 years old girl for cosmetics ?? Moreover, she refuse 200 Million Won ?? Do you know someone who'll refuse such a huge amount of money at such a young age ? That's a total nonsense. This kind of news reminds me of the same with GangKiz refusing a huge contract for an advertizing for lingerie before their début. It's just to try to convince us that these girls worth gold, it's nothing but a bluff, as usual with CCM. I really don't like their way of communicating.

  8. I seriously had a migraine after reading a couple of weeks back that the new T-ara member is 14 year old. Now I'm having a migraine again while typing this. Just when I'm about to warm up to the idea of the additional member, we get a news like this. This is like an INSULT ADDING TO INJURY. Because CCM wants to run after the position of SNSD, it's like T-ara ended up being AFTER SCHOOL 2.0. What a shame. This really makes me sad. And heartbroken. And bitter. So bitter that I'll also play into the "let's wait and see game". But right now, as heartbroken as a fan I am, I know I'll support Boram, Qri, Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin, Hwayoung and Jiyeon always.

  9. Me me me ^^ I would die if supernova and T-ara promoted my Fav song for all time!! Really I want TTL Japanese version. I deffenitly would be a hit. Btw I agree with you in everything you said me also I don't like any KARA Japanese releases where I like SNSD Japanese releases more than the Korean once. Anyway I really hope T-ara will promote something different like you said something other than cute or funky!

  10. Really guys, I don't think that this was a flop.. T-ara is still new in Japan and you can't expect them to pass the top 5 mark every time they debut a new song.. being able to get a #1 for Bo Peep was an extraordinary astounding accomplishment (which why they keep on mentioning it whenever T-ara guests in TV shows there..).. it was a historic first time for a foreign girl band and not something you expect to repeat every three months or so.. Even at #9, how many other acts from Japan, America, Britain, and even Korea did they they actually surpassed in the charts? Hundreds! To give it a bit more of perspective they even beat fellow CCM act: Supernova! (at #8 with Stupid Love) And those guys have been in Japan for years and have a serious fan base there.. 19k sales (just for the debut.. its still selling) without the expenses of producing, choreographing, wardrobe-ing, training etc. a new song still equals a heck load of moolah for our girls.. They haven't passed SNSD and Kara but still light years ahead of 4minute, Secret and Rainbow (which debuted earlier) in Japan.. I am also not really worried about T-ara not using original japanese songs yet since they still need to introduce their unique sound to the J-public. SNSD's Mr. Taxi was awesome (which is why they brought it back to Korea) but I really don't like any of Kara's Japanese songs and I am worried that T-ara will also get similar J-duds.. can't wait for the new album for the girls to prove me wrong... My real gripe about T-ara's promotion strategy in Japan is that they are known for being the "chameleons" of K-pop.. you got "Lies", "Bo Peep," "IGCBOY" "Like the Begining" "CryCry" etc.etc. they go from cute to sexy to cool concepts. But for Japan? Bo Peep followed by YaYaYa followed by Roly Poly followed by Lovey Dovey.. thats cute to cute all the way... And I would like to shoot the guy who put the K-version of Roly Poly in the Yayaya singles CD just months from actually releasing the Japanese Roly Poly single.. PS: Anyone else think it would be AWESOME to see Supernova and the girls get back together for a Japanese version of "Time to Love (3?)"

  11. I don't really care whether she looks like SNSD Yuri ( I'm a SONE to start with before i fell in love with T-ara as well). JIyeon and HwaYoung will forever be the maknae of T-ara and no one is changing this fact. The president of the agency really needs to hear advice from fans as well. What's that use of copying other girl group's way of managing their members? Adding HwaYoung is enough to make the group wonderful and complete, why add two more innocent teens into the wild world of Kpop? Gonna support 7 member T-ara all the way and pity the new two member..

  12. when it come to 9 members, automatically, SNSD will come into my mind. even i do like SNSD but, i didn't like group with too much members like SNSD and SJ. it just that not all of them have the real talents and shine out there. so, when KKM wanted to change T-ARA to 9 members group. I AM REALLY AGAINST IT! but, because i really really like T-ARA, i still wait to see who will KKM add into this group. and when i read this news, 'oh my god, maybe KKM is really crazy!'. how can he simply added a 14 years old girl into a group that actually have two other girls that will reach their 30 soon. maybe, he has his own reason to reduce the age gap in this group. but it really don't make any sense. how will their group's concept change after this? a 14 years old girl is too young to sing and dance like T-ARA's concept. hey, i don't hate that girl.. she is too cute for that. HAHA. but, i can't accept the girl will be one of T-ARA's members. i can't imagine my lovely Eunjung will get less and lesser line in their song and Boram and Qri maybe will just dance! and at the end, we will hear another news that Boram and Qri will retire. HAHA. i hate it! yeah, to me, T-ARA is no.1. but, the fact out there, there are too many girls' groups that also fighting to be the best among the best. T-ARA just step into one of them and KKM is just too greedy to make them more popular. but, this is not the best way he can think of. so, now, we will wait and see how he will change T-ARA! pity to Eunjung, Jiyeon, Hyomin, Soyeon, Boram, Qri and Hwayoung. i know they will say 'okay' with KKM's decision, but actually they feel otherwise.

  13. Somehow i feel like they will using her to replace Qri and Boram unnie.. Both of them will be retire soon when they reach 30 maybe.. and to make sure t-ara are still known to netizens , they add young new members... just like Girl Group 'Jewelry'.... totally disagree with CCM's decisions but i'll support t-ara no matter what happen in future...

  15. 19k ??? That's huge ! Really didn't expect that much since the album is coming out in a few days. The last time Korean artist did so (U-Kiss and 2ne1) they only sold about 3k of their single while their album did about 20k. Well, those are flop artists in Japan but still, 19k is an amazing feature. Now there's hope the album will break the 100k margin within its first week.

  16. Just like everybody felt, a looooooong *sigh* . I mean seriously, 14 years old,she probably still a middle schooler. Like I always said, she and +1 better be GREAT and can bring T-ara to another level or else they'll just to be burdens to the group! I love 7-ara because they are unique. They barely compared with other groups in terms of music or group itself. But now T-ara will always be compared to SNSD or After School, and probably in the future they'll loose their uniqueness (hope not happen). Only with just this announcement, Queen's are disappointing and starting to falling apart . I can't imagine in the future .Oh my gosh, I hope this not the beginning of their downfall. But we, as their King or Queen, have to stay strong and join hands to always support T-ara no matter what happens. T-ara hwaiting! p.s : Danee's face is ordinary, nothing special LOL

  17. I think the AF graduating concept is unique, probably to make them stand out? I don't know, but i definitely remember After School as the idol group with a graduation concept But more than so, I remember Ga Hee from heroes! Truthfully, if Ga Hee does graduate from AF, i don't think i'll even bother with the group anymore. As for this article, i don't see any slight resemblance between Dani and Yuri, not even at a first glance. I even tried looking at the picture and glance away really fast to see if i can see the 'resemblance ' but all i saw was someone who looks a little similar to f(x)'s Kyrstal, as you've said xD If i was that 14 year old, i would've ask the CEO not to put me into the group, unless i have no choice, but there's always ways to get out like, if it were me, I would just go to my parents to pull me out, like HyunAh from WG. If Boram, Qri and Jiyeon ndoes become backup dancers in the future, won't hell be raised? Especially with Jiyeon, i think half the fans like see her sing, no matter how short a line. I mean, if my ears didn't deceive me, all the MC, MB and Inki performances I can hear fangirls scream really really (annoyingly) loud when Jiyeon comes to sing. And come to think of it, I don't think I've heard them rap in RP or LD. I wonder if they're dropping the raps... >_> Personally, i loved Eunjung and Hyomin's rap, especially in TTL2 And Hyomin lines haven't gotten less. I think it's Boram and Eunjung who's lines are getting less and less. I mean in LD, doesn't Boram only 'sing' "정말 좋겠네"? As for "i don't think i can fully call myself a queen anymore", I feel the same way. Actually, i brought the membership, despite knowing of the possible changes, but i seriously love T-ara with all my heart that i couldn't pass up the moment/year of their official fan club opening. However, i feel like this strong attraction and love towards T-ara is starting to dwindle bit by bit because of these news and the additions. And no, I'm not saying my love to the 7 girls are dwindling, but to the group that's known as T-ara. I'm still very much in love with Boram, Qri, Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin, Hwayoung and Jiyeon. Just not T-ara. It's not T-ara.... It's T-ara plus 2 for me. Hopefully I'll get over this ideology and come to accept the new girls after they show me what they got. But it doesn't change the fact that I'll resent them or rather, KKS for disrupting the T-ara dynamics.

  19. For me, she's way too young. I'm almost 30 years old, there's no way I'm interested in watching a 14 years old girl (13 in occidental age). That, in addition of all the other points like: less singing for the current members, less exposure for all, no utility adding new members to the 7 that are already perfect, etc. I don't find anything to be happy about in this whole affair, I'm sad. ㅠㅠ

  21. Ha, I must admit I'm still relatively new to K-Pop...I got into it after I discovered BoA in 2009 and began following T-ara the same year. They're the one group I've really stuck by since discovering K-Pop. One reason I don't say very much is because I feel a certain level of disconnect from other fans due to the age difference, so I generally keep to myself or post at The Prophet Blog since there are several people around my age with my sensibilities that post there as well. As far as what you said about AKF, I agree that a lot of what AKF himself talks about is on-point and hilarious, but it puts me off that I have to wade through all of the fapping jokes, misogynistic comments, and the rank smell of bullsh!t just to find it. Plus some of the new contributors are downright wankers. Lol As far as what makes me a T-ara fan, I admit that I'm a gay man, so their looks really aren't the reason I enjoy them (although I must admit I've always found them to be one of the prettiest groups in K-Pop; even "ugly" members like Bo Ram and Hwayoung are lovely in my opinion)...I think they put out some of the best pop music in the world right now, while their concepts and style/image is some of the most unique I've seen from a pop act in years. T-ara doesn't xxxx foot around; they go hard and take it all the way. It doesn't work all the time, but I commend them for making the effort and trying out new things. They go out of their comfort zones, and I like that. My biggest gripe with Dani's addition (besides just feeling strange listening to a prepubescent girl's music) is that I believe she's going to limit T-ara's plasticity when it comes to concepts and sounds. They aren't going to be able to do concepts like sexy or adult without it feeling strange and forced, meaning stuff like "Cry Cry" and IGCBOY won't fit them anymore. Furthermore, I actually just read that she's still 13, meaning she hasn't even turned 14 yet, meaning she still very well could limit T-ara's ability to promote on music shows. The jury's still out on whether or not that's a blessing in disguise, as it could mean that T-ara will just perform without her or they won't perform at all (and I'm guessing it won't be the latter). Ultimately my position is that T-ara would be a million times better off if they broke ranks and left CCM; hell, JYPE needs a girl group that can move albums, I'm sure they'd be happy to have them. YGE would be a great fit as T-ara could help them diversify their image beyond edgy, hip-hop groups. Just stay away from SME as I have a feeling they'd bury T-ara to prevent them from becoming any more of a threat to SNSD. They seem to do that with their groups. I'd also avoid Pledis since they'd probably encourage the admission/graduation system and stay the HELL away from DSP because of what they did to KARA.

  22. It would be nice to have someone with Soyeon and Eunjung's vocals but if that was the case, I would rather that person (if Dani does happen to belong to that group) become a soloist than debut in a group. Groups were meant to have vocal harmony, which T-ara does (at least from what i heard in AFA, it seems like it does). Like that interview in Win Win with IU, the reason why she wasn't put/debut in a group was because her voice stands out too much that it would've cause a clash between the vocals. I personally wouldn't want one person outshining the rest by a large margin (in terms of singing), especially if it's an idol group. And like Scatter said, T-ara is an idol group, they aren't or rather weren't meant to be or have vocal powerhouses. And if they were, they should've been a smaller group like 2-4 of them instead of 5, 6, 7+ That's what I've been thinking since the rumors and the official announcements of additions to T-ara. Personally, if T-ara does turn into AS, as in the graduation concept, I'm throwing my Queen's title out the window. Only the future will tell if these additions were a good thing or a bad thing. Hopefully the former. (even though i despise the additions with my whole body and soul) *claps* CCM's way of promoting its members are probably the worst in the industry imo. First, comparing them to already famous or successful groups, emphasizing on skills and looks they have; probably and most likely to a point of exaggeration, and giving tidbits of irrelevant information - to divert your attention Now, I'm just waiting to see how bad CCM and KKS screwed up this time or not. Maybe he didn't and actually succeeds again.

  23. Like I said, I meant no offense, and I appreciate your levelheaded reply, which alone tells me that you've got a better head on your shoulders than 99% of most K-Pop fans. Lol. As far as what I read on AKFG goes, I just have a really low opinion of that site as it seems run primarily by a bunch of young men trying their hardest to divert attention away from their latent homosexual tendencies by making crude and obnoxious comments about women (not anything I read by you, just by the majority of the people I see posting there). So I may have been a bit biased in my assumptions there, lol. As far as what comprises a "true" fan of T-ara...that was my gaffe. I'm one of those people that believe that being a fan of a group is something that's different for each person, so questioning your dedication as a fan was wrong. I apologize. It's just so sad to see the fanbase being torn apart like this...it really felt like we were starting to come together as a group after Lovey-Dovey dropped. We had a lot to be proud of, we all seemed to have the same ideals regarding what the girls needed (a break), and now it just seems like no one can agree on anything. It's like KKS is trying to obliterate the group and its existing fanbase from the ground up and start completely from scratch. I had finally come to terms with the member additions before learning that one of them was 14. As a 28 year-old man from the U.S.A. I know that I personally feel strange about listening to music made by a tween. I like T-ara for members like Boram, Qri, and Soyeon, who are a bit older than the average idol and bring a bit of maturity to the group; for some reason I can't shake the feeling that Dani was added to the group for similar reasons to Hwayoung, to lower the group's average age, because I KNOW it can't be to connect with their Anglo fans. Right now they're the ones that have the biggest issue with the addition and will probably be the ones withdrawing their support for the girls first. *Sigh*
    1 point
  24. I'm not against the new members but I just can't imagine T-ara having an underage member again. Like most Queens waited long enough to Jiyeon to come on her right age so as T-ara can have more variations in terms of concepts, style, etc. And I think that's already enough 'cause waiting for 4-5 years again will be impossible to bear. I won't be bias for the 19 y/o member too 'cause I'm not basing this on the members' age. I just can't figure out the way this company thinks. We're not asking more from T-ara, we're just asking CCM to let them rest. They're already near the top, 2011 has become their year. That's why up to now I still can't accept the changes - why are they necessary? If he's planning on a graduation stuff like AS then prolly all the 7 members will graduate then it won't be T-ara anyways so why can't he just make another group? Or if those 2 new members are really that good to the level that they can bring T-ara on a higher ground then make them solo artists. I know some will say that this isn't the fault of the new members and "why don't you give them a chance?" but sorry I can't just brush it off like that. Reading between the lines, I know that this is a strategy to get rid of some members. Because if not, how come KKS comments were like that? Either way, I know fans will still be reminded of member kick out issue here. But then, half heartedly I'm closing this post with the cliché - "I'll wait and see"
    1 point
  25. *Sigh* This is just wrong. No, it's more than just wrong. It's flat-out idiocy. What is this? After School? At this rate, the current oldest members are going to be pressured to leave on their own will. I guess it's bye-bye to Boram, Qri and even So Yeon in December or later.

  26. I actually think that they are advantages to the song and the choreography being leaked. I am sure the teaser is an excuse or a cover up for the leaked video since it has really gone viral. Or maybe it's part of KKS's plan after all since he's someone who does promotions in a very cunning way. It's weird when one day they said they are going to reveal the new members to piss fans and then the next day there's a leaked video to please the fans. I personally think that KKS is playing with the fans but since I'm already trapped in the T-ARA fandom, I'll play along. The leaked video certainly creates a lot of hype for their comeback. The song is extremely flawless (for me) and it's different from their previous songs but yet it still sounds like T-ARA. All of their voices blend together perfectly (although I only heard Soyeon, Hyomin, Hwayoung, Eunjung with that high note !!!! and Jiyeon). I was excited for their comeback but that leaked video officially make my excitement peaks that I want them to forget about their Japan promos and make the comeback next month. I won't say that the full choreography is leaked out though. Yes, they dance was leaked but we still have the dynamics of the group to look forward to like how eight of them will move on stage and how they will arrange themselves in their position. To be honest, I love the leaked video. It's just the perfect remedy for my heart which was broken after KKS "stabbed" it with the 14 years old girl news. T-ARA, time to kill all the charts !!!!

  27. sorry, but i dislike the "beating T-ara or pass them" response of them... they are under the same management right? i mean... nothing i just don't feel like it... they just keep it to themselves because they may have nega comments like to me, it make me annoy somehow, but i'm trying to understand and look at the positive side though... and the Honey honey trailer, i agree with sleepystudent, seemed like similar concept with LD and Cry cry... well, i was hoping CCM wouldn't be focus too much of promoting those new girl group and just ignore T-ara, well but it is more interesting if T-ara would be in different management right? XD but the only problem in changing different management is that you are back to zero, and a possiblity of them being separate, >.< well, anyway, fighting to T-ara and GangKiz too
    1 point
  28. Honey Honey was similar to LD... for me, I think they should've choose another song, like Tonight. I really like that song, and i think that should've been their debut song. Honey Honey just isn't going to stick for me.... Oh well. Gangkiz, fighting~

  29. what crap is he talking about....soyeon's burden? eunjung also have a very good voice....i think two is enough rather than having three and wasted eunjung's voice for only a small part or rap part.... the problem of line distribution is also serious... the distribution is already a mess with 7 members and now 9? i seriously pity the girls... i feel that their talents will not be fully developed and wasted....
    1 point
  30. They should just give more lines to the others, especially eunjung.. Anyone who's listened to the first album will know eunjungs voice is not bad. But she hardly gets any lines now...especially when the rap is given to hwayoung now. same with hyomin (although she probably gets the most lines after soyeon). Just train the other members' vocals and let them develop instead of making them stand around while giving the new members (who btw have not worked in building up t-ara's popularity) all the lines and screen time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZUc_WT6vV4&feature=related
